A typical story of a print gone wrong— … and clogging up the nozzle so bad it actually clogs up the part under the rubber even.
I’ve never had to deal with this before so I honestly aren’t sure what the best/safest way for a noob to fix this - are there any tips on how to best clean this problem? I tried to soften the plastic for easy removal but the nozzle won’t heat up either x-x
Using a P1P
That’s not clogging, that’s a print off the plate and then melted around the hotend…
What type of plastic?
For PLA just get the hotend to around 230 degrees Celsius, wait a few minutes and you should be able to remove the leftover goo with tweezers.
If it made it into the spring holding the heater try needle point tweezers but be careful with those wires.
In case the plastic went in too deep you have to get the clip off.
I prefer the hot pull method right after switching the hotend off.
Putting in the freezer for a while can also help, especially with PLA as then the plastic won’t stick that good.
If you own (or someone living with you owns) a blow dryer (for hair), that can be used to heat up/soften the plastic for easier removal.
