so when I do this test with pla (I have slow down printing for better cooling turned off) the first couple layers go slow and fine, then the thing ramps up to a high speed and my extruder skips, then it goes slow again and after about 5 more laps again it speeds up and starts skipping.
I print way above 5 as a volumetric flow, usually 18 to 20, how do I get it to stop ramping up?
You can see it tries to start running those green lines at a higher speed, so of course those lines are going to look bad. Shouldn’t all be going at the same rate? The line type is all outer wall.
does outer wall need to be fixed to a certain speed?
I don’t know the model you are running but usually when running MVS calibration models the MVS is set high ie 50 and slow down for cooling is turned off. When you see imperfections, skipping, you stop the print. Remove the print and measure the from the base to the last good layer with calipers. Plug that number into the formula to calculate your MVS for that filament.
I’m running the BS version built in. Just running it how it sets it up.I I start skipping around layer 5, but its only on those fast layers as shown on the image, I end up stopping the print before it’’s complete hence all the issues.
Also when looking at flow on the preview page, it appears every green line is WAY high 40s to 50s.
Why is this thing change the flow rate to 50 every few layers, then back down? It’s just kinda weird. The setup is “ start speed 5, end speed 21, value step 1” how i have it stetup now. but it still wants to push it to 21 every few layers on the print. Layers 8 is 22, layer 9 is 7… makes no sense.
Ah, I see the issue. For some reason when I change it to my own filament it screws up the print! Not sure what is different since i’m leaving the preset the same. Very interesting.
I don’t have the one build into my BS. I guessing I have to turn developer on?

you do, you have unlocked developer mode. Took me a random youtube short to figure that out as well.You get all the standard calibration with it.
The problem is back… there seems to be a bug with the test. I will have to use a maker world test as well I guess. This is odd.
Yeah developer mode burn me way back when and I turned it off. I not found a need to turn it back on yet. Thanks
It seems to have to set the filament to bambu, cant use your own custom. I tried doing the same changes the calibration changed in the filament tab to my own but doesn’t work. Interesting.
I have never done this with my machine. when my machine is fixed… I will stop posting so much and try this instead.
That should make a few people around here happy. I mean me not posting so much.
What happened to your machine and which one? Honestly I feel like it wasn’t really relevant to do, but it was something I wanted to try.
