Max volumetric speeds

Does anyone have the ACTUAL max vol speeds for the .2-.6 right side and .2-.8 fro left side?

It’s crazy but printing with .4 takes the same amount of time as the .8 what the!?

with the 0.8 you should print lesser walls to obtain the same thickness as using the 0.4, that and the layer height are the time savers. if you print with same 4 walls and same layer height, same time. I can’t help you on flows sorry

The volumetric flow for the 0.4 mm nozzle, is for PLA and PETG HF already close to the max heating capacity of the nozzles.

The 0.6 is approximately 10-20% higher, and the 0.8 is equal to the 0.6 because you hit that limit.

The 0.2 is quite low and because the diameter is quite restrictive. It’s 1mm3/s for PETG HF and 2mm3 for PLA I believe.

The reason your 0.4 and 0.8 prints take about the same time is that the slicer is capping everything at the hotend’s max volumetric flow (mm³/s), not at a “nozzle-based” speed. With the stock profiles Bambu keeps the max volumetric speed for PLA in roughly the same range across nozzle sizes, so a larger nozzle just makes the head move slower to stay under the same flow limit.

Going above 0.4 mm is therefore usually not primarily about speed but about part characteristics: thicker walls, more material per layer and better layer adhesion for strong, functional parts. On the other end, the 0.2 mm nozzle is heavily limited by max volumetric speed in Bambu Studio, which is why it ends up “insanely detailed but slow”, not “insanely fast”.
