Midi sound files for starting and finishing a printjob? like the A1!

i saw on the A1 u can customize the start and finish print sound…

i checked the gcode of the h2d and it has the same sound lines…

shouldnt it also work on the h2d?

i found a few websites to load midi files - but they are all full songs, anybody knows a page with windows like soundeffects or soemthing? i just want short sounds :D:D

it works the same as on the A1/X1 and certainly others. You can download any midi files and try with a midi editor (there are several free editors on the web) to select just the part you want.

The thing is you can only have 3 tracks (X, Y and Z motor) and cannot adjust the volume (it will be full on for each track) so it will be sort of hit or miss when you select 3 tracks from your midi file (avoid the drums) and try to play it on the H2D, You may get the expected result or just a strange medley but it’s certainly fun to try

My question is regarding the ACTUAL music that plays on print start/end. The one coming from speaker not the motors. Can we somehow change that? I dont want to turn it off, just put another sound !

there is no speaker they all come from the motor… startup sound and error is inside the fw i think u cant change it… just start / end print

need to find some short midis

Theres no sound coming from my motors on H2D . Only speaker. Also you contradict yourself. There IS a speaker since we can hear it. Bambu just needs to give us a way to change said file.

There is no speaker, the sound comes from the motors and has to be done through Gcode. The link @DRCGRAPIX posted in his original post explains it.

You mean to tell me the perfect harmony is produced by the stepper drivers… sorry but i cant believe that. It clearly sounds like a speaker, not a buzz from drivers. Better not draw conclusions from a wiki article related to a different machine.

  1. The same music Gcode code from that article is in the H2D code.
  2. All the parts for the H2D are for sale in the store. There is no speaker.
  3. The internet is full of articles on how to make music with stepper motors.
  4. Trust me bro

You sure about this, like extra sure?

But that’s part of the flame alarm, it can’t play music can it?

The non laser versions have it too. I guess stick your ear against it and start a print? That type of passive buzzer can play midi music.

I’ve got a job ending in 5 minutes, I’ll let you know.

you are drawing assumptions from different machines. Also no, not all parts from H2D are on the store. Only the ones expected to fail.
theres clearly a speaker in there, this loud sound is from 2004 drivers, not the ones h2d uses… and certainly not of that clarity/quality…

Like I said in my very first post, the sound is coming from the X,Y and Z motors, no speaker.

You can try this gcode I made, it’s very rough and unpolished but you can actually experience what you can get from the motors. Just extract the gcode from the zip file, put it on your USB stick and print (you will click print but don’t worry, it’s not an actual print, it will just play the music)

The link may not work by just clicking on it, so copy the link in your browser and press enter to download (your browser might say it’s not safe to download but it is, it’s my work not a dubious download I copied)

Ok, I still couldn’t tell. But here’s a question, that buzzer can play midi but could you make it do it through Gcode? The fact that @philch (and I think others?) have changed the sounds by changing the startup/end Gcode makes me believe it’s the motors. This is all ironic because I didn’t know the A1 mini played the sounds through the motors until you told me lol.

I did not change the printer start print and end print sound although you can change them, it’s not in firmware but in the printer profile (they are in “machine gcode” tab, just look for “printer start sound” and “printer finish sound”)

The link I posted above was just for fun and works stand alone, not associated with any actual print.

How can the sounds come from the motors when the machine receives a print file and hasn’t yet homed. Wouldn’t that mean the motors have to move the print head/z axis to make a sound?

Its easy to confirm or debunk. If you have your h2d “free” start a job and put your palm on the speaker near the buffers. If the sound is muffled… you got the answer. I cant do that on mine for now, its nested in its position and a pain to remove

Try my link  It’s just the motor drivers sending modulated frequencies, I guess the humming of the motors do the rest.
