Okay so I’m trying to print out a few models for myself, but for whatever reasons it would say it needs some repairs (which is fine since it’s auto). But it would keep sealing the top of the shoes (which is not what I wanted)
If I try to look at the preview section, even without tree supports… it would just chop off the top part. I found it so strange because I sealed it off with faces in blender.
The first image is what it looks like in blender, and the second image is what it looks like when it’s “fixed”
I’m not sure why its telling me that the .stl model is “floating”! Any ideas?
Im using Bambu A1 Mini and running PLA basic with 0.2mm if it make any differences.
May or may not have anything to do with what you are seeing, and I intentionally held back the last Studio upgrade, but I get that “floating” message a lot after I have imported an STL and then go to slice it. I don’t know what provokes it but saving the 3mf after importing and arranging but before slicing, closing Studio, and reopening it and loading the file back again has fixed it every time and it slices properly after that.
For some reason importing an STL can sometimes make the slice fail like that. Seems intermittent here so might be some other factor involved but here if I save, close Studio, reopen and reload the file, then it works.
A small update, loading in the model as 3mf file kind of solves it but I just use a mesh slicer here and there.
Unfortunately, I still haven’t solved the strange gaps above the model (doesn’t even show up on blender), but thank you for your help!
Guess I’ll have to add some square mesh around the gap and hope that it works
I should mentioned that blender did had an add-on for saving the model as 3mf, but the plug-in doesn’t seem to work on recent versions.
This may not apply to you, but I find that I get rid of a lot of Studio slicing errors by opening a new build plate and simply dragging my model to the new plate and deleting the old.
Go figure! Found that by accident and have used it many times.
