And it’s just adds a displacement to the object based on the normals map, so you can 3D print things with like wood grain pattern or metal plate pattern or such.
This would allow creating tile sets for Table Top RPG or figurine / mini’s bases, or even simple environments, super easily without having to search for models or make any yourself.
I think it’d be amazing to have that in Bambu Studio so we have more than just a fuzzy skin.
If some dude can make it solo, Bambu can add such a feature too and I think it’s really interesting.
Having something like the BumpMesh out there will hopefully push this type of thing forward so we can start seeing things like this in Bambu Studio. I know I’d greatly appreciate it, since I suck at trying to replicate it in CAD.
Hey, thanks for linking the video. That’s awesome!
Yeah, it’d be a cool feature to see and have in the slicers, and It’d be vastly incredible being able to just you know, plop down 2 rectangular walls and a rectangular floor, give them different ‘textures’ through this kind of BumpBesh modifier, and print a ‘textured room’ as environment, or tiles for RPGs.
Very cool tool he made and would love to see similar things come to BambuStudio eventually
I don’t remember where I saw how to do it but if you search fusion 360 add textures there’s plenty of videos out there. Only thing is to watch how the menus change - the options available depend on what you’re doing.
