Yeah, don’t get me wrong though, I’m not so friendly if someone straight up rips me off, like takes my model and post it elsewhere. I’m grateful for those that watch out though, like @MalcTheOracle. I try and not stress out about those things too much though because I have enough anxiety over life; I want this to be a happy and fun place.
I’ve seen the full range of things as it relates to mine. From some cool and obviously inspired by models, to some that were more or less copies. I’ve rarely taken issue with it. I don’t get callouts like “inspired by Josh-3d” very often, and it doesn’t bug me too much. I just feel proud, if anything.
Side story. I’ve worked in the video game industry for awhile. Every once in awhile I see people do cosplay of things I’ve created. It’s pretty cool. I did the hunting rifle in fallout 3, and that was one of the first things that I saw someone do a cosplay model of. A lot of what gets created in that industry kind of gets lost in the mix, so those moments can really make a person feel proud.
