My experience with Cyberbrick as the creator of the RC Go-kart

Hi all - by this time, it’s no secret anymore that I’m one of the creators tapped by BL to beta test Cyberbrick (Thanks to BL for this great opportunity!). I made the Cyberbrick Go-kart as one of the models that will be available soon for download.

While I’m still restricted with the amount of information I can share about this new product, I’ll go ahead and share my experience and personal thoughts in hopes that you get an idea of what could be expected with the product.

Accessibility
Often, when I create a model that I intend to share for others to print, I would struggle to find the components that are readily available that doesn’t or requires the least amount of soldering. This is a concern esp. with so many Bambu users that are new to 3d printing, let alone tinkered with 3d printers, I can’t expect people who will download my models could solder. With BL releasing Cyberbrick as kits, I no longer have to source out from different places the needed components for my model. It will be seamless experience for users just like most of the Maker Supply Kits.

Simplicity (for both users and creators)
Not only that users will not have to solder at all, they won’t even have to learn or do any programming at all! Creators will be sharing their configurations and the user just needs to upload the sketch/code to the boards wirelessly!

Of course for the more advanced creators and users, programming via an IDE will also be possible.

As for creating your own models for Cyberbrick, with the CAD and specs that are available for the creators to use, it was an easy experience for me to bring my design to life.

Versatility
This is where I think the Cyberbrick shines over vanilla Arduino or ESP32 – the embedded app will allow changing configuration on the fly! One simply needs to activate any of the already uploaded sketches on the board.

Expandability
Given with what Bambu started with Maker Supply and has since been expanded, one can already imagine the vast amount of components that are both existing in the MS catalogue and ones that will hit the store in parallel with the Cyberbrick launch. And with the size of the BL maker community providing product feedback, it’s only a matter of time for the Cyberbrick catalogue to grow even further.

Hey Chiz_m! Love to see your Go-Kart. It looked so iconic & lively that we put it at the center position in our key visual ; )

I’m so glad you recognized the value of CyberBrick when it comes to ease of use over traditional dev boards.

BTW, I wonder where you got the inspiration for the color scheme. Are you a secret Ferrari Tifosi?

Thank you! 'Really appreciate it! Glad you find it lively and fun which is my goal when I decided to do the go-kart. I want it to appeal to both adult and younger makers. I think it’s also the stickers that makes it pop up

Oh absolutely! It’s refreshing to me that I didn’t have to connect a cable to upload code/sketches every time I tweak the configuration!

Lol I wish! I chose red coz among the colors, red makes the most impact and appeal as would Cyberbrick’s impact to the 3d-printed RC community.

This looks so good - it’s a nice touch that the lights change with the direction!

Thanks man!

The Cyberbrick config app makes it easy to configure LED light colors that would behave depending on the state of the motors.

I see this fits Suletta but will it fit Lunamaria Hawke with Soft Touch alternate pieces?
