My two day old P1S went a little crazy

I was not suggesting buying the aliexpress one, I was just refering to the shape of that cover that I used to get a quote (€12!) from my local online plastics supplier.

For the concrete slab, here is an interesting post about vibration and isolation:

I read the article and was surprised at how little I understood the subject. “Do not put isolation pads/feet between the printer and the pavers.” That seems totally counterintuitive, but I get the point.

I finally pulled the trigger on a cut to order polycarbonate cover for the bottom of the printer. I’m really pleased for the €12 I got charged for it. I don’t have to worry anymore about anything getting underneath and caught by the belt although it never happened but a small peace of mind. While I was at it I have also made the top glass cover in smoked grey PC just in case I break mine which almost happened twice already

Very nice! Do you know if it will have any harmful effects on ventilation? If not, I want one.

There’s nothing to cool here and it’s not airtight anyway. I can give you my dxf file which is what these suppliers need but I have to slightly adjust some dimensions first as I had to do a small trimming around the feet where it was too tight.

That would be great. I appreciate it.

Here is the file:

PS: For some reason, a link to a zip file does not work and opening a dxf in your browser gives unexpected result… Click on the link and in your browser address bar, replace .xyz by .zip and click enter, inside the zip is the dxf file (do not worry if you receive a warning for some reason but I can assure you the file is clean)

Gotcha. Thank you. I’ll check it out.

Hi.

I’m a new P1S owner, and this seems like a really great idea with the bottom cover, and well executed! :star_struck:

Would you mind making the file available for a short while again, please  - it seems to have disappeared from the linked site… :disappointed_relieved:

Would be highly appreciated

The link still work but as said above you shall replace the .xyz by .zip as this forum does not accept zip link…

I would try just doing a full printer maintence on that and visually checking lead screws to see what happens.

Looks nice! Where did you have it printed? I assume PCBWay can do this…

I’ve ordered from an online provider in France but this company seems to have locations in the UK, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (or is this just a front and everything ships from France I don’t know).

Here is the UK site for instance: https://plasticsheetsshop.co.uk/

Otherwise, if you’re outside Europe, just google for “plastic cut to shape”, I’m sure you’ll find one or just find one locally in the yellow pages (if that still exist :)).
