Need a pink filament

My stepdaughter just got her first car and wants to customise the interior, and I’ve said she can search for 3d models she likes and I’ll print them for her.

The problem is she will want pink.

I was surprised to find that there is no Bambu Pink PETG HF or even ABS or ASA. Every variant of PLA has a pink or two but obviously I can’t use PLA for things to go in a car.

So far I’ve stuck with bambu filaments so I’m looking for suggestions for which brand of filament has a bright pink suitable for car accessories.

I’ve found Tinmorry to be reliable - the glass fibre stuff is particularly good, but needs thoroughly drying before use.

Anycubic and Creality have pink PETG available from Amazon. I have not tried Anycubic but have used Creality PETG in other colors.

I’ve never tried either of these, but Hatchbox and Polymaker both have a pink ABS:

I’m not expecting to need reinforced material, although young people can often have ideas I’d never anticipate :thinking:

I’m thinking PETG is probably better for UV exposure. This is a quite old European car so I suspect the windscreen doesn’t stop much of the UV getting through.

I hadn’t heard of Tinmorry before but Amazon UK has a good shade of pink PETG with a good printing speed and they specifically state on their website that it’s UV resistance makes it good for outdoor use.

I’ll give that a try and see how it goes

I bought a new brand called ‘22network’ on Amazon. Their pink color is really pretty. You could try it. Hope this helps! :blush:

I just bought two different pink PETG, since it’s hard to tell the actual color hue by product images on amazon/websites:

The Tecbears Sakura Pink is a very attractive, almost delicate light pink. The Sunlu Pink is more of a classic hot pink – very bright and cheerful, but stops short of a magenta shock. I ended up keeping them both. :heart_eyes_cat:

I’m making a print with the Sakura Pink right now, I’ll follow up on how it turns out. Haven’t yet tried the other one.

Follow-up: The Tecbears Sakura Pink behaved very nicely. I did get a little overextrusion due to heat creep near the end, I believe; next time I’ll drop the temp from 240 to 230 and see how it goes.

The pink lid here is basically a Gridfinity base, so that it nests with the box. So it’s actually more massive than one might normally expect from a box lid.

(The white, on the other hand… is everything we might expect from a $10 spool of white PETG. Oh well! The pink is good.)

In another print I just started the first layers are behaving very nicely:

The Tecbears goes for $14 on Amazon here in the US. Fantastic value for the money, imho.
