if you go on ebay you can get a Flir One for your phone for 150$. Its also useful for finding insulation problems in your home, really useful, but very easy to lose.
After seeing those images and realizing what all I could use it for I ordered a Hikmicro. Not as nice as the ones you guys have but apparently pretty capable. Very curious how this will all play out.
Old subject but I’m experiencing similar with large flat signs that I print.
Using the same bed the machine came with (Textured bambu plate).
I’ve been printing these signs since April/May 2024, without any sort of issue until mid/end December 2024 and the issue continues now in January.
I live on Long Island - maybe the humidity/climate has an effect, but i’m using the P1S, enclosed, in a basement without any draft or ductwork
The issue follows the left side of the item for some reason - if the signs’ orientation is rotated 90 degrees, the same side lifts, never the opposite side of the piece. WEIRD!
What DOES help? Glue stick. I haven’t used glue stick on my bed since owning my machine as of Feb '24, and here i am applying it against my better knowledge.
I suspect that this maybe providing enough tackiness to keep the piece on the bed until the end of the print
Someone had suggested that maybe the print bed is now junk after a few hundred prints, to replace it. IF this was true, then why don’t i get the effect for my smaller prints?
Another suggestion was to use a scotchbrite pad on the bed - i haven’t tried this yet, but i also dont want to waste filament if printing for a customer. Perhaps i can shrink the model down to a small enough size to see if the effect is still there.
I’ll be buying that blue cool tack bed as soon as it’s available.
I just keep my bed SUPER clean and run it hotter. if it suggests 60c, add 10c and turn off the aux fan for large flat prints or it will cause problems. the aux fan is honestly pretty useless. its been off since i got it and all my profiles except tpu(it does reduce stringing) have it set to off or 10%. I’ve been mitigating the uneven heat since I got it and everything has been fine. bambu sent me a new tool head cover for free and its been guns and roses cranking parts ever since. of you use some sanitizer before handing the textured pei bed you almost never need to clean it. I made an M12x0.5mm lens thread mount at .08 with a .4 hardened nozzle just the other day. granted i had to fillet the top of the threads to make it work but just the fact I got threads that fine out of this thing is truly a blast for the kind of work I do. Also i haven’t used glue once. I print tpu, abs, and pla all day every day and I am sure my ASA would adhere just fine to the textured plate but i havent needed it yet
