OK I got an error that said that my machine wouldn’t load filament and that either the hot end or the extruder was clogged. I tried cleaning the hot end and that didnt fix the error. There was a little plastic in there but not very much. Then I replaced the hot end with a new one and that didn’t fix the error either. Next I pulled the extruder and completely cleaned it. I also replaced the PTFE tube that runs into the extruder. Error went away but a new error came.
“Unable to load filament into the extruder. This could be due to an entangled filament or a stuck spool. If not please check if the AMS PTFE tube is connected.“
The AMS PTFE tube is connected. Everything in that line is new except the connector at the top of the extruder but the filament is stopping short of even entering the extruder by at least an inch, maybe as much as two.
The spool I’m feeding from turns freely as do all my spools.
Roughly 1700. I’ve changed all the PTFE tubes, and I double checked the connections making sure they were all tight (I had to disconnect the sensor in the top of the extruder. I think that may have done the trick. Fingers crossed.
Are you watching the filament feed? Is it making it to the print head but not engaging the extruder to complete the load? If you take the top glass off and slightly lift up on the ptfe tube at the head while the filament passes through does it make any difference? Does the same issue happen to other filament rolls?
