Negative object doesn’t seem to be working.
I created a negative cube, and as shown this cube extends above and below the main object. I then hit render. The blue square is a hole that I made another way. The red doesn’t seem to be see-through. Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks.
What does it look like when you slice the file with the negative part?
Not sure what u mean. I have not printed it. I just show what it looks like after rendered/sliced.
After looking at your pictures again, it appears to be making a hole where you have the red arrow. It looks like your slicer thinks there is an image on your build plate under the red arrow.
Just to verify, these are the steps you followed?
- on the Prepare tab, select the item you want to make a hole in
- right click on the item and select ‘add negative part’
- size and position the negative part relative to the item you want to modify making sure it extends below the build plate.
- select ‘Slice Plate’
The hole you make will be shaded a little compared to the bare build plates in the image.
Yeah, took thgoise steps. I made a simple example, and it appears the remnants of the cut-out part are still colored with no layer to print?
Not sure if this means anything, but it says, switch to pre-object setting mode to edit modifier settings.
Yes, it shows a shadow of the negative part. You should be good to go.
