Negative part Bambu Studio

How can I cut 10 mm from the middle of this model, then reattach the top to the bottom using negative parts in Bambu Studio?

I’d use the cut tool, reduce the size of the lower piece just on the Z axis, then reassemble.

( I need to learn to type faster)

A negative can make part of a model unprintable, but it cannot split a model into separate parts, or re-connect them.

Instead, use the Cut (C) tool, check the Cut to parts box, and make a cut at the base of the hex, noting the Z height.

Make a second cut 10mm lower.

In the Objects list, you will have three sub-parts; delete the middle section.

Select the top part, and use the Move tool to lower it 10mm.

But it is a simple shape; it could be easier to recreate the model at the proper size in a CAD program like Fusion, Onshape, or perhaps even TinkerCAD.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a try.

Pull the STL in to your preferred CAD program.

Select all the vertices in this segment of the model.

Translate the vertices on the Z axis to move them down 10mm.

You do not need to do any cutting to achieve what you are trying to achieve.
