I thought the P2S combo was $799 and the X2D combo is $899?
Yes, close. Just a $100 more for quite a bit more features, but not the same.
My robotics team recently got the P2S combo also.
Don’t worry, there will be so many more who will pile onto this. Not like it’d been leaked to ■■■■ and back. I mean, this came out of NOWHERE!

I dunno. I think paying any amount of money for a bowden extruder in 2026 is like buying a CD-R drive to listen to nickelback on your discman. This one seems real odd. The rest of the package seems great but… extruders are kind of very important. support only, i guess

Bambu releases new printers on a pretty regular schedule, it was very well sourced from Bambu that the next printer was the X1C replacement, and there were already leaks out there three weeks ago showing parts of the printer.
Heck, all of that information was available on this very forum.
The bottom line is you didn’t look before you leapt, and now you’re mad at someone else, when you are 100% in control of your own actions.
I’m not clear on why, exactly, your misplaced feelings should be more important than a company being able to release new products to remain competitive in the market.

Better cooling, heated chamber, nozzle camera and the second hotend is still worth it imho. While not being as flexible as a direct drive, I don’t understand why people are spitting on the bowden system, they work fine. I’d rather have a bowden extruder on a second hotend than a single hotend. You get much more bang for your bucks with the X2D…

Cost surely but probably also toolhead weight, which allows cost in other domains too.

I haven’t looked too closely, is that extruder removeable? Maybe something down the road?
It’s not quite the H2D Lite some were hoping for but it seem to hold the X line, bowden excluded of course.

I think if you just full-on ignore the bowden and second extruder, it is a very capable box at an only mildly premium cost. So I think the X2d will find a lot of homes. I cannot stop myself from proclaiming that it is VERY ODD though lol. Like they found a pallet of bowden extruders in the warehouse and decided to make something with them

I’m sorry, hearsay and speculations shouldn’t define my choice for a 3D printer. The position of the P2S in the lineup simply makes no sense right now. Yes, I chose the P2S because it was the right printer for the price at the time. Now, getting the P2S instead of the X2D would be the dumbest decision considering the price difference.
Yes, I might be overreacting because the news just dropped, but it’s the first time I spend that much on a 3D printer (after 12 years since I got my first printer) and It’s annoying to see a recent printer like the P2S becoming “obsolete” 3 weeks after buying one.

There was literally a picture of the printer in Bambu’s own app, and it was the Bambu staff saying the next printer was gonna be an X1C replacement. Keep giving me your cope downvotes all you want, this is on you and you alone. Grow up.

God I hate that. EVERY FREAKING TIME. Everytime BL releases a printer it’s the previous printer is obsolete.

This conversation happens every single time a new printer comes out. Along with people asking for an upgrade kit.

i feel the same way. At least with the h2s, they announced the h2c so people would wait to buy that model instead of needing to repurchase it 3 months later.
This feels like the p2s shouldn’t exist and they should have announced a x2d instead, then released the x2d when ready other than sending out a flawed gt2 belt printer. if the printer was properly revealed, id have waited 3+ months without a doubt. oh well, derp on me for sure

It was out for a long time before the P2S even.
The U1 released 12 months ago (same price $899). The P2S released 6 months ago.
Does bl sell the u1? snap maker was back ordered and they don’t have a proven track record
