New Bambu Studio 2.3.1.51 still crashes

Version 2.3.1.51 dropped for me this evening, and it still crashes in exactly the same way at exactly the same spot when it is launched.

Anyone have any ideas?

(edit) This version appears to work on the Win11 machine but still crashes on the Win10 machine I normally use to administer the printers. Once again, I could roll back to 2.2.2.56 and it works properly.

I’ve had no success opening a ticket as it insists on a “photo or video” that I don’t have.

If you’re on windows go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\Bambu Studio then clear it out. Uninstall Studio and now reinstall it.

Not saying it will work but that solved my issues. Your username meaning our windows login user

Thanks, I’ll try that.2525252525252525

Operating system?

Don’t you mean BambuStudio? Wouldn’t the OP first need to save his custom presets before deleting the folder?

Absolutely, thank you for catching that.
He should back them up always. However there is only a cache in this file.

Thank you, correcting my first post.

That folder contains only a folder named WebView2Cache, no presets.

Presets are stored in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user
If that folder is deleted, and Studio is synching through the Bambu cloud, the presets will be restored on login. (Preferences>Presets>Auto sync user presets)

Though a post in another topic says that deleting only BambuStudio.conf from C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\ is sufficient.

I’ve not had a crash, so I have not tested either solution.

I need coffee. You are correct Ikraus. It was roaming. The reddit I followed said to nuke the whole roaming folder, it solved my issues.

OP was refering to administration of the printers so they may be in LAN only mode in an administration of some sort, hence my worries.

Sorry if I’ve created confusion.
When I said “administer” perhaps I should have said “run”. It’s just a basic garden-variety install of Bambu Studio on Windows 10 at all the default values controlling my A1 and X1C through the cloud. No LAN mode or any modified pre-sets.

I’ve tried all that with no success. I’ve also done an uninstall via Windows add/remove programs and gone through userdata (both public and roaming) to make sure all Bambu info was gone, and did a fresh download of the package, disabled Microsoft Defender and Malwarebytes and paused the VPN. Same results, crash back to desktop at the point where I believe the network plugin should be installed.

If the plugin is the problem, can it be downloaded and installed manually?

Same problem here. Had to roll back to 2.2.2.56.
Windows 10.

I’ve opened a ticket, will report back when Bambu responds.

They replied to that ticket saying “we’re working on this, roll back to an earlier version until there is a solution”.

For several days, crickets.

Then yesterday… “is your problem resolved? If so, we’ll close this ticket”.

NO the problem isn’t resolved! I’m waiting on the solution you said you were working on! Don’t people at Bambu talk to each other?

The ticket system has some automation built in. It sends that “Is your problem resolved” message after a certain amout of days with no new messages from either side.

Ok, didn’t know that. I thought I was being brushed off.

After a couple of back-and-forths with support, they sent me a link to Bambu Studio build 02.03.01.52-20251104104128 that installs and works properly on my Win10 and Win11 computers with my A1 and X1c.

Support told me that the problem was a conflict with the Intel graphics driver which seems to tie in with the problem others have had with nVidia drivers. I’m not comfortable sharing the link to the version they sent me as I don’t think it is intended for wide release. They say that the current supported version is 02.03.01.51 and that a permanent fix will be incorporated in the next official release.

Hasn’t support for Windows 10 been officially discontinued? I have received notices from other software providers that their products might no longer work properly on machines running under Windows 10 after the first of the year.

Microsoft has stopped providing FREE security updates for Windows 10 but you can jump through a couple of hoops or pay some money to get another year of updates, and the long-term servicing channel version will keep getting updates for years. Win10 will continue to work just fine. I’d guess that “other software providers” are spreading FUD to get people to buy newer versions of their packages and if they are writing their software to fail on 10, that is on them. Whatever, that has nothing to do with this Bambu Studio issue.

Just tried this and reinstalled - we’ll see how long it lasts I guess lol.

It worked fine for a week, then started crashing. Uninstalled/reinstalled and it lasted one day before the crashing came back. No “This program has stopped responding” or anything, the program just closes itself.

Edit - just crashed again. I sliced a file, hit send to printer then clicked on the pencil to edit the file name and it froze for 1 second and just closed out completely.
