So I upgraded to the recently released Engineering plate for my X1C and for some reason the X1C does not recognize the plate. I can just click resume and get past the error but was wondering if any ekse has this issue. The printer is fully up to date on firmware as well but still does not recognize the newest plate from babmbu
Yep same problem here…my guess is the QR code isn’t recognised by the firmware yet
I was just about to start a thread about this and the forum suggested my topic looked like yours.
This pisses me off no end. This is not the first time they have introduced a new plate and it wouldn’t work. The Supertac plate had the same problem. Last time it took almost 6 months before it was supported on X1C. I paid extra for the flagship product with the ability to tell me when I have the wrong build plate installed and again I can’t use that feature. The work around last time was to turn off build plate identification. It also looks like you can just tell the printer the problem is resolved but when I did this my first layer failed. This was also an issue with the Supertac plate. I think it prints too high even though it does the bed tramming after you tell it to continue. The only print I have tried so far is with Bambu PC transparent and I used Bambu glue stick with a 110 degree bed. The Polycarbonate printing tips does not recommend the liquid glue although the new engineering plate suggest it.
Quality assurance at all companies where the product is internet connected has progressively gone downhill since about 1994 because instead of getting it right, management can fix a problem with an update over the internet. Before 1994 it had to be done by swapping out eproms or in the best case reprogramming an EEProm. Lots more difficult. Of course with the X1C probably being end of life soon we may not see a fix for this.
This might also be an issue on the H series printers, I don’t know if they bother to read the code on the plate.
Bambu is failing us again. They are not ahead anymore and really don’t deserve our money.

I had the same disapointing results, and opened a support ticket : answer is wait for the firmware update.
I mostly pring PETG, and like the smooth finish I get with eng. plate, but going ahead by ignoring the warning won’t do , as I cant get any model to stick to the new plate(s), while all is fine on the old plate
if new plates do not behave as the old one, changing the QR code is logical, but WHY BBL choose to keep the same name ?
a print sliced for ENG plate will fail on a new plate , which makes no sense to a user of such printers , and becomes a pain as you need to know at the slicing which of the plates will be available at the printing time (I leave finished prints cool down on the plate out of the printer, while I can start a different print)
