Just replaced everything in the extruder head and now it will not print, keeps getting clogged or just stops print.
Double check that your nozzle fan is plugged in fully and working.
You’re going to need a bit more detail. Pics of the current state of the print head and connections and possibly video of whats happening (clog/stop). If the printer is in warranty, have you sent a support ticket?
If it’s getting clogged a minute or two after first heating up and especially if it then becomes nearly impossible to unclog or get new filament to feed in at all, then it’s almost certainly the case that the little fan on the side of the hot-end heatsink either isn’t working or isn’t present at all (people have done that!) This allows the “cold zone” (heatsink) to warm up too much, causing a phenomenon we call “heat creep.” Double-check the fan’s wire connections and use a light to confirm the fan is spinning when the nozzle temp is above 50ºC. (It turn off below that.).
Another possibility is that un-meltable debris is contaminating the hot end and getting stuck in the nozzle outlet. This could be purely coincidental to the recent extruder swap-out. The best way to eliminate this as the cause is to simply replace the hot end, assuming one is available.
Such debris can float about and not be a problem at the start of the print, only to plug the hole when things get moving faster. They can also partially block for a time, then fully, then not at all, etc. These are rare events in clean environments, but contaminants can and do make it into filament or get carried in on bad luck days.
In theory, printing PLA and running the bed temperature beyond 50ºC with the door closed and lid on can also cause this “heat creep” issue, because the ambient air being blown by the fan is also too warm. This will take far more than just a couple minutes to manifest though and is very rare in practice. The printer will display a warning if a print file using PLA and a higher bed temp is sent. I do it all the time though (bed 60ºC) and have never had an issue. Then again, it seldom gets above 20ºC ambient here in my office and I keep the printer’s front door open during PLA prints.
This one’s a bit on the cheek but it’s also possible that just by coincidence, the issue is nothing to do with the extruder but in fact the filament is jammed somewhere further up the line. A simple test for this is to pull the PTFE feeder tube out of the top of the extruder (PLEASE read manually on how to release that correctly if you’re not familiar) and see how pushing and pulling filament through the tube feels. There should be only minimal resistance, if any. Try to pull a good 100m or more through.
The least likely but still possible cause could be something mechanically wrong somewhere in the new extruder gear assembly. Hopefully that is not the case. Highly doubtful.
I have sent a tech support ticket. The X1C only has 433 hours some of it is the ghost printing. Cleaned clogs, replaced head, extruder and nozzle. Still not working. It is not even 1 year old and Bambu is doing nothing but sending instructions. I am angry because this X1C has been barely used since I use the P1S and H2C without a problem. I had a H2d and it had filament clog in the dual head received brand new from Bambu. I returned that one to BestBuy. Having trouble with a P2S right of the box that I will be returning to Bestbuy. The problem is I did not purchase the extended warranty with the X1C so I cannot return it to Bestbuy. I was told that Bambu would fix it or replace it, however I am not getting that experience. Tech Support service needs to be better. I would like a repair claim to take it to Microcenter or replaced.
