I know everyone’s mileage will vary, but I want to put this out there so folks will make informed decisions. I purchased a new H2C on April 1, 2026, it was delivered on April 3, 2026. I had it setup that night. I ran a few test prints and it worked great. Started printing some other things and so fart so good. then I started printing a riser for it and started getting an extruder overload error. I checked everything that you normally check and nothing seemed out of line. I was able to get it to finish my telling to continue, which took forever. I opened a support ticket on April 10, 2026. After some more troubleshooting I was told that they would send a new Extruder. I got the new Extruder on April 19, 2026. I watched the video a few times and started the swap. To say it was a pain is an understatement. Working in tight spaces and having to deal with ribbon cables at awkward angles sucked. I spent a couple of hours doing that, only to get it turned on with errors about stuff not connected correctly. One of ribbon cables that runs from the front to back on the left hand side got in the pathway of the mounting screws and they damaged the cable. Thankfully the new extruder had an extra, I got that all put back together and seemingly no assistant errors. I hooked everything back up and decide to do a print calibration, and when it did that it told me that the Extruder change failed and the toolhead lift motor works abnormally. By this time, I’m super frustrated with the whole ordeal. A brand new machine should not have this problem and I should not have to be spending my valuable time dealing with this. Not to mention, support does not respond to anything more than once a day, usually when I’m sleeping. If I do catch them and respond quickly, it’s a whole day before I hear anything back. My last response was that I will not try and troubleshoot further and I want a replacement. 24 hours later they tell me I have 2 options, normal process, I pack up the printer in the original box and they send me a shipping lable, they get it back, inspect and then send me a new one. That will take 2-3 weeks. Or for another $3k they will send me a new one and when I send the old back and after inspection they will refund. I’m not going to tie up$3k for this mess that I should not be dealing with. I send them a reply to the ticket letting them know the utter disuguest I have for this whole process. All this to say, beware of their support times and they fact they don’t give a rip about any issue we have to deal with and they have no problem inconveniencing us instead of having excellent customer support and doing what it takes to take care of the customer!
These people are based out of China. I’m sure you aren’t sending work emails at 3AM your time either
You purchased a machine that requires technical knowledge and know how maintain, troubleshoot, and repair.
They all break down, new, old, used, etc. The error you are referring to could obviously be the extruder itself, but it could also be user error in many ways. Partial clog etc and there you go.
I have a fleet of these machines. I’ve ripped apart about every square inch of them. I have replacement parts galore for them, not because of reliability issues, but to keep them running when they will fail. They run 24/7.
You can take the entire hotend apart in about 10 minutes. You could spend the same 10 minutes and undo the belts and have the entire hotend / rail and harness assembly out of the machine sitting on a desk in front of you to work on.
One thing is for certain. If you don’t know what are doing with regards to working on the machine or confident in your technical ability, this machine probably isn’t for you.
To yell at Bambu for the above is pretty wild. Things fail. Even new. And it sounds like you broke it further by trying to fix something you probably had no business touching it in the 1st place.
I humbly disagree. I have no idea how to repair mine. Fortunately, in the years I have been using it, the Bambu Lab printer required no repairs, almost not maintenance and has been performing flawlessly. Should I buy another printer from them, I would have the same expectations of near absolute perfection and reliability.
These are not Ender printers geared towards new adopters or geeks. Bambu Lab are addressed to the iPhone generation who expects perfection, elegance and reliability from day 1.
Wait.. You honestly think bambu makes repair parts and sells them in a store because they “DON’T” break?
I have no idea what world you guys are living in, but it’s most definitely not reality. Most manufacturers of things that are mechanical / electronic in nature, that have a warranty, try to maintain a percentage of warranty dollars vs profit for any model, line, car, equipment, you name it sold. That trend monitors if something has excessive issues vs the norm.
To have the mindset that because Bambu markets something as if it’s going to be perfect always and never fail is absurd lol. The hope is the large majority of them DON’T fail in the warranty period. But to think they don’t is ridiculous. Everything fails. And you sure as heck better plan on that as an eventual occurence if you plan on using a sophisticated piece of modern equipment.
At that point, you were still within the 14-day window since the printer was delivered on Apr 3. You could have requested a replacement or refund and avoid all those subsequent troubles.
Now you are mad because you would still have to go through the normal replacement process 11 days later. I can see the frustration, but can’t see a way around it.
The return is a hasel in it self! Good thing I saved the box, normally I get rid of boxed right away! The whole thing just sucks, if you’d be ok with it, so be it, I am not!
