I am having calibration issues. Wonder if anyone has run into something or is like hey do this to fix your issues.
I have been checking through google and have not found a fix to these issues yet. I just received my H2S 10w Laser combo this week and am super happy with the printing this thing can knock out.
I am having a few troubles with calibrating the laser. I’m actually getting a few errors too.
So first thing is I have skimmed through the manual and watched a few youtube reviews so hopefully I did not miss anything it looks pretty straight forward.
I added the laser onto the print head. Checking to see if it is seated properly(The Click on the side of the laser head and the seam lines up) and plugged in. Next the setup guide jumps on the screen. It wanted a firmware update so I let that happen.
It goes to calibration and I get an error Quick-release lever is not locked. Now I have reseated it a ton of times. It is seated properly and the lever is in the locked position. I even tried canting it a bit to see if I could get the Click word right on the seam of the print head, which it kinda already is. I cant get it to correct. There is an option to Ignore and resume So i try that.
I get to the next step and I will get an error that the laser platform is offset. Now I have lined this up in the machine to what I would call perfectly. I tried putting it in back words but the tabs will not line up. I only tried that because I was frustrated.
One time the other day when I initially was setting this up it went to the next step. I could not find the calibration sheets but it did it on a peice of printer paper which was cool. I still dont know how I got to that point but when I went to put in the cork board It threw the platform error.
Now I get to the platform error and watch as each time I push the problem resolved it lowers the bed more and errors out.
Mind you I do get an error every time I print if I open a file in bambu lab from makerworld or I drag and drop into the slicer with an .stl file that the print plate markers not detected. I have also turned off all the lights in the room to be sure that there is no light affecting the printer seeing the build plate which is a stock plate.
Im wondering If I missed something. In the past with other devices I have had a protective film over cameras or sensors. Did I goof and miss something?
Like I said the regular prints come out just soo nice. My first print was a poop shoot and silica dry pods in ASA that was just so nice to inspect after the print.
This morning I decided to do some troubleshooting by just doing a factory reset. After that I am still getting the plate marker errors and now an error that it cannot see the encoder board. After some reading I can see that the laser quick release has a reader on it for the cameras to check if its down. This is leading me to believe that the cameras are having an issue. I am going to check to see if they have any protective film on them. I do not see a tab to peel off but they may have one there anyway.
It looks like my problem is something with the cameras so hopefully I can report back with a fix.
The only issue I had was with the laser bed. I was getting constant alignment issues during calibration because the back left corner of the laser bed was bent slightly thus causing it to not properly push up against the tab on the printer bed. I bent it back into shape and now it pushes up against the tab properly. I’ve not had an issue since.

If you’ve walked through the Wiki process carefully (remember to power off the printer) Laser Module Installation Guide | Bambu Lab Wiki already, I would clean all three camera sensors with a soft cloth. The two that may be causing issues: HMS_0C00-0400-0002-0007: BirdsEye Camera is setting up. Please clear all objects and remove the mat. Make sure the marker is not obstructed. | Bambu Lab Wiki. Also the normal live feed camera on the left.
When you have the laser module installed, on the touch panel, see if you can recalibrate the birds eye camera. I’m not in front of my H2S, but I believe you can touch the BirdsEye camera on the touchscreen and recalibrate it.
When I switch to the Laser, it takes <5min. Turn off printer (I use the red emergency button), pull off front of extruder, pull off wheel thing. Flip laser lever up, slide laser down on extruder, lock lever. plug in laser module, run air tube to back (I leave it attached to laser module all the time). Swap plate to Laser Plate finally turn printer back on (twist red button so it pops up). Printer boots, quick laser calibration when prompted. Done and ready to burn stuff.
Ok I watched the video as I had just skimmed the manual. The display screen had the birds eye camera as online without the red text under it. Under laser it had in red Not calibrated yet.
I left the printer unplugged 5 mins before I started all this and cleaned all the cameras again. The side mount cam, birds eye cam, removed the buildplate cleaning the bed(all 4 markers clearly seen), and the sensors on the side of the tool head with a microfiber cloth. After powering on I did a birds eye calibration.
First I got a quick-release lever is not locked. Which it is
Next I got a red Error
The setup of birds eye camera failed. Please clear camera.
I have not attempted a birds eye calibration before. Just the normal camera calibration just a live view calibration.
For an extra step I unplugged it and performed a live view calibration which was successful but as soon as I tried to print a quick file I got a print plate marker not detected.
I would take a good look at your Birds Eye camera. Sounds like it is damaged/defective. Might need Bambu Support to get a new one…
I have opened a ticket with Bambu support for the issue. For now I will just continue to use the 3d printing aspect and ignore the buildplate marker detection.
When watching the live camera on prints It looks great, also the one time I was able to do the laser calibration It let me view the cork sheet before I would get the build plate marker error. The cameras are on.
Bamboo is going to send me a replacement birds eye camera. Im a bit concerned that its more than just that with it having issues detecting the stock build plate and the arm on the laser. Is it just the birds eye camera that sees those or is it also the side view camera that does that detecting? The one time I almost cut cork I was able get the image from the birds eye to place the first coster on the cork. have not tired to see if it still is displaying.
Hi @nickbeamon2025 did you resolve this issue? I’m having the same problem, I just can’t get the machine to recognise the lever is down. I can’t calibrate the birdseye camera becsue of the lever ‘not being actioned’
