I have no idea what it means and why it’d be under licensing. Heck, I don’t even know what a print-only contest is. Any ideas?

I noticed that the other day as well. I’m guessing they will be having a contest where they have to be that? Idk.
My understanding though is that if you select that license, the model can only be sent straight to the printer via cloud slicing, no downloads or imports, not even the .3mf as a form of copyright protection. The idea being people would be free to print it, but can’t actually get the model file in any way.
I haven’t tested it though, and I would hope they at least have a way to customize the print settings through the site or app for models using that license.

Interesting. I like the idea of copyright protection. But I don’t like that you’d have to trust the creator to create a good print profile. There’s too many things that could go wrong or that may need tweaking for the end user.
Yeah, I already print very few things by other people, I would not trust the profiles. I recently tried again because I needed a thing but had to leave for work, so I sent it through the app.
It had a few thousand downloads and was featured by Makerworld, their official account even commented on it. I thought, well OK, surely it will be fine and I’ll be able to use it when I get home…
Worst thing I’ve printed in years. To be fair though, The print profile was only part of the problem, the model itself was just not designed well for 3d printing and the tolerances required for such a thing.
They really need a way to adjust at least the basic settings online with that license. But I guess maybe it could make sense not to for a contest? Could be a judging criteria maybe, like how well your print profile performs for the masses, IDK but I still wouldn’t like it without settings control.
