Pay close attention to the wording: “consider including information.” So, is there still no requirement to upload a photo, i.e. is there still no hard system lock? To be fair, I should mention that Bambu always deletes bad reviews. I thought the next step would be to make it mandatory to upload a photo if someone publishes bad review.
Nevertheless, this does not protect against spam and unjustified negative reviews. I mean, it’s good to have that stated again, but as long as the system - i.e. the website - doesn’t force you to upload a photo, the problem will still arise.
Perhaps I am overlooking something, feel free to join the discussion, share your thoughts, …
Yeah it would be great if the requirement for low ratings were:
Clear photo of the issue.
Clear description of the problem.
Description of the filament and settings used, maybe even their 3MF auto uploaded. If they modified the 3mf (beyond colors) they should NOT be able to post a negative rating to the original profile.
Many times I get a negative rating just to find out they were using the wrong filament type, setting were changed etc. Also often just a negative with no description of the problems “does not work!” kind of stuff and wont reply to my inquiries.
I find the ratings don’t help much in determining which issues are legitimate and which may be caused by dollar store filament or altered settings. The information required for rating is way too vague. All we get are a number of stars and usually one line telling us it’s either great or garbage.
I personally would love to see pictures be mandatory on all ratings, regardless of the number of stars given. I would also like to see the system auto-publish certain information alongside a users star rating, picture and comments. Information like the total print time, printer used, filament used and whether or not print settings were changed.
It would be great to have the ability to scroll down to the comments of any given model and filter the ratings by printer/filament/etc.
i mean yes we need photos to have a proof as a creator and sure it will be helpful to help the user to fix it. (only to those who actually need the help)
and No, it is actually harming to the creator, let say if someone posted the photos and other users (who are lazy to read the creator comment back) might glance and the photos and assume it is a bad model, especially when it is a long print or long project.
or maybe a time lapse, license and proof of insurance could be the solution for it.
i have 2 suggestions which i mentioned before.
1- we need user’s profiles to show total printing hours of their machine, this way we can be certain that it is a user error, which 90% of the low rating is and the other 10% is the user simple being grumpy.
2- the other suggestion is i want to just sit in front of the user with my head resting on my fist staring at his soul, and simply say “see what happens if you post a 1 star review”
i’m just being sarcastic here i know whatever makerworld tries to do, there will always be a bunch of individuals who will make it unpleasant for the creators.
Bambu is to blame for the whole issue anyway, as the app still demands that users submit a rating immediately after printing. I find the entire 5-star rating system pointless. There should simply be a single option in the app: ‘Satisfied with the print?’ with the options ‘Yes’ or ‘Ignore’.
If someone has a problem with the printout, they should fill out a report form. This will initially be hidden and sent to the creator. The creator will then be obliged to respond. If there are actual problems, the report can be made public, along with subsequent comments from the creator explaining how the problem was fixed.
Alternatively, people who are fans of the creator can continue to post photos voluntarily, without points.
The way the system is right now, it doesn’t help anyone. I’ve seen prints that had tons of good reviews but were faulty. Probably system bypassed.
