New P1P with unacceptably bad print quality

I recently purchased a P1P, and opened it today. All calibration went well. My first print was the onboard 3Dbenchy model, but the first layer was not detailed (but did adhere). Along with the first layer, the rest of the print began ghosting, stringing, and oozing. It got to the point that I had to stop the print because the nozzle was colliding with the filament. It should be noted that I used the Bambu Labs PLA (green) packaged with the printer.

After attempting this benchy twice with no improvement, I swapped filaments (MatterHackers PLA, red) and attempted the Side Spool Holder Bracket (.3mf included). This also bubbled, and I stopped the print.

I am printing in a cold, moist basement, but my enclosed FlashForge Adventurer 3 has no issues printing with my filament. I have the other filament (also MatterHackers) in an air-sealed tote-box with desiccant packets.

I would love help. I have a sneaking suspicion that the filament moisture is the issue, but, again, the green filament is Bambu PLA opened today.

I have the same problem with a brand new P1S. The only solution at the moment is to turn down the speed A LOT.

It seems like there is an issue with the infill part on mine, could it be a bug in the latest firmware version?

I’ve read multiple reports already that people experience issues with the latest firmware. The solutions AFAIK:

  • Try a factory reset
  • Downgrade to 1.07 (can be done via Bambu Handy)

I never printed with the latest firmware, because I wanted to use OrcaSlicer and LAN-only, so I immediately downgraded the P1S+AMS to 1.07. Worked great so far.

I’d probably toss that sample filament although if used another brand in another machine somewhat mitigates against the filament. IMO samples of most anything are probably excess from a production run. That is me though. I prefer avoiding that possibility.
Scrub your build plate.
Check each and every connection. The ones you made and the ones already done at the factory.
Based on your environment you might consider buying the enclosure kit made for the P1P to make it more like a P1S.
Short-term, if feasible, drag the printer to a more environmentally friendly location, even if just temporary, and run a test print.

I wouldn’t call the green Bambu PLA that comes with the P1P a sample. It’s a boxed, full non-refill spool of PLA in a sealed bag. It also comes with a full spool of PET-CF.

All I can speak to is the small, less than 1 KG spools I got.

Yeah, downgrade and Firmware Reset fixed that issue for me.
