I agree fully here, just testing my smooth plate on the H2D and most thing are coming off during print, has bug all grip. even at 65c temp, Gold PEI is fine. The Smooth plate needs to be glued with PLA. I havnt had these issue with the smooth on my A1, minis and X1C.
Sometimes I wonder if this is just a tough case of Bambu selling the cheapest and lowest quality plates…
After struggling with the smooth plate, I just did a print on the gold, at 60c, and it held on tight, no glue. The smooth plate for the H2D has issues, being either bad plates or firmware problem…………
Bambu will send me a new plate. If you have issues with the Smooth PEI plate → open a ticket.
It sure seems so!
Got the new plate today. Made two prints on it so far and it worked right away with both of em. I’ll print a few more things, also with PETG and ABS, before I say it’s fine now. But so far it seems be a huge different in the original plate and the spare I got today.
Ok, lets see. I might use the faulty plate for TPU. I once destroyed a sheet because I let a TPU print cool down. It sticked so well, that the sheet was destroyed. Maybe this faulty sheet just has the right amount of adhesion for TPU
If opening a ticket for the smooth plate, what “proof” will they ask for in this particular scenario?
First they asked me if I did bed levelling. I provided:
- picture of a PLA part where the corner started lifting during the print
- picture of a first layer print which shows, that the z-levelling is ok
- log file of the printer
I’ve made a few more prints on my new bed with PLA, PETG and ABS and they’ve all had good adhesion.
There is no longer any doubt what so ever to me that the first bed was flawed. The fact that Bambu didn’t question anything at all when I wrote my ticket and immediately offered to send a replacement bed, corroborates that, it’s also a pretty clear indication, IMO, that they know very well that they’ve shipped a batch of poor beds with the printers.
Not with the printer; the PEI sheet is an option, standard is the textured plate.
Was it bed or plate replacement, I´m confused?
It was the the Textured PEI plate that was the issue. A new PEI plate solved the problem.
Just now trying the old one again with Magigoo PA and Polymide PA612-CF filament, to see how that works. With a bit of luck I can use the old one as my Nylon bed.
