I recently changed both of my print heads 0.4mm in my H2D, brand new, Bambu original parts. I have run all of the calibration steps twice now (plus the times it levels the bed before a print). It’s printing the filament pretty hard into the PEI textured sheet (PLA and PETG), so much so that even PETG is hard to remove. I have to use a razor to scrape out the little bits sometimes. I never had this problem in the last 6 months. Prints popped off perfectly. PLA always stuck a little more, but PETG would practically pop off. I haven’t changed anything, still using Bambu Lab adhesive too, which usually helps pop prints off and in some case stick. With PETG it really helps them just fall off the plate. Now everything is practically embedded. It’s like it’s printing 0.1mm lower than it should. Anyone else run into this
First thing that comes to mind is a slightly dirty or “blobbed” nozzle during calibration, or something else that caused the system to misalign the Z-offset.
It could also simply be that the wrong build plate is selected in Studio – easy to miss, especially if automatic plate detection is turned off.
On my old, trusty Prusa MK3S I couldn’t clean the build plate with IPA before a PETG print; it would grip so hard I practically had to wrestle the parts off. I ended up dusting the plate with a bit of body powder just to get less adhesion on my build surface ![]()
ah there is a clue in there, as I haven’t changed anything including settings (like build plate), but you mentioned IPA. I did use a ton of it recently on the build plate, and normally I don’t. I just use distilled water to wipe around the PVA glue slurry and let it steam off. That might be it, I’ll keep an eye. Thanks.
I use IPA on both of my machines without any issues, but I am running CFX plates on both. It may behave differently on textured PEI plates, though.

If you only used water before, and now you used ipa, youre just experiencing a clean plate
I have a P1S that prints a little closer to the plate than my other P series printers but it was always like that since I got it. Was nice at first because i never had to worry about warped edges but after I cleaned it, or perhaps a print failed and I had to remove the thin layer that was on it became a little more of an issue or embedded material. I started adjusting my gcode Z height for some things to remedy it. Never dug further in to it because like i said i just adjusted the Z height in the gcode and figure it was just a slight variation causing it in how the printer was assembled or something. I thought maybe i need to mess with bed tramming but never got around to it
nope, not that. I clean the plate with dish soap. The only residue on the plate is the PVA glue, and its wiped around with distilled water. IPA will not remove PVA either, and this was a clean plate. I’ve been doing this long enough to know the syptoms of a dirty plate, this is definitely a z-axis issue. It’s embedding the filament into the plate.

If you are comfortable with gcode this is an extremely easy measurement to make with a set of feeler gauges.
very comfortable with gcode, used to customize my voron with it constantly tweaking it with klipper and fluid back in the day.
anyways, update, it seemed to disappear. On one of the startup bed leveling that once in a while does a full bed leveling instead of just a section it seemed to fix itself. So it must have been something on the toolhead or on the nozzle cleaning pad that it was touching. I had run 2 full calibrations before, but apparently those must have been registering the same wrong offset because of some debris after the nozzle change. really weird, because I’ve had ABS/ASA goop and burnt on TPU residue on those older (original) nozzles that you think would mess up the bed leveling in the past and it didn’t. But put on some brand new nozzles and suddenly it’s super sensitive? lol
