New to the world of printing, hoping to get a little guidance

Oh okay, my new printer came with Textured PEI, if it’s random then I guess wait until you get the printer and then purchase the other plate.

New to 3D printing also. I love my X1C. I’m so glad I chose it and the AMS. Never worked with CAD software, but in just over a month, I’ve learned my way around Fusion 360. A lot of tutorials online and this community is great. There are a few “Learn Fusion 360 in 30 days” courses on YouTube, that are great.

Lastly, I don’t have experience with other slicing software, but as a newcomer, I think the Bambu Labs slicer is very complete and easy to use.

Enjoy the printer, whichever model you choose. You’ll be addicted soon.

Ordered the x1 and 12kg of filament, you sob’s I’m in!! Lol, but thank you all graciously for your input, found a few new resources along the way, my neighbor is an engineer and plans to help me along the way too so we’ll hope for the best, thanks again

Glad to see you were able to make a decision and pull the trigger. You already have CNC experience, so I don’t think it’ll take you much to get up to speed with your designing and printing. Just have to remember it’s additive and not subtractive

The one I just got came with a cool plate. I’ve been feeling jealous over the peeps that have got a textured plate.

And we’re all here if you need help!

Has anyone tried any of the Bambu CF in the AMS? Was hoping to grab some but want to make sure it’s all compatible!

The PLA-CF and PETG-CF is compatible with the AMS. It will find any tight spots in your PTFE routing and needs to be dried properly before use to avoid brittle bits blocking up the works. If you are doing single colour, I’d recommend the external spool as the filament does wear the internals (slowly, many kg’s)

When using carbon- or glass-filled filaments, it can be better to use the 0.6mm nozzle to reduce risk of clogging. The X1C comes with the standard 0.4mm nozzle. I would suggest getting some good experiences with plain PLA before moving onto other filaments.

Guys, my AMS isn’t working. What do I do :sob::sob:

You provide some more info on what’s not working. Is it getting power?

I dont think that it is, I might need another. So I plugged and unplugged the ■■■■ out of the 6” cord, but I’m getting no lights in my AMS, nor does my AMS even show on my printers screen in the temp/axis menu how I’ve been seeing it pop up for everyone else it seems

Here is the wiki page for an AMS with now power.

I don’t have the proper tools to test the current of my cord. Are there any other suggestions? Is there a line that you can actually reach someone at Bambu through? Should I open a ticket?

Are you plugging the AMS into the correct power socket? (there are two). Looking from the front of the AMS the plug goes into the socket on the right. The left one is for daisy chaining multiple AMS units.

Just attempted that and unfortunately, nothing

Ya textured is great but I prefer engineering for PETG and tpu. Though PETG works on texture, it literally falls off engineering when I pull it out of printer.
