New TPU Feed Assist Module in a P2S

Hello, I Own a P2S with an AMS 2 PRO and an AMS HT. I want to buy the new TPU Feed Assist Module but it’s not clear how to properly connect the whole.

As you can see currently I have the buffer for the AMS pro and the HT and a Y splitter for the “manual” spool holder. My understanding: get rid of the manual spool holder, print and install all the hardware related to the TPU Feed Assist Module but then there will be enough space from the device output to the Y splitter, so how the hack should it be mounted?? The bamulab tutorial video shows how to mount it in the H2D which is a totally different story…Other than that is not clear at all where to mount the 4 pin cable…the buffer has only a 6 pin socket….any idea before buying it?

Hi Andrea,

It’s easy to miss, but when you get to “Step 12” of the instructions, “Install the kit,” there are actually 3 separate tabs there to choose from, for H2 series, P2S, and P1/X1.

The module comes with a 4 to 6 pin plug adapter which can be plugged in to the buffer spare slot or into the chaining ports of an AMS. That’s also mentioned in the wiki, though also not very obvious (a folded FAQ section at the top).

So I can place this assistant device between filament buffer and external spool holder / dryer on an P2S with AMS for better TPU feeding from external source? Sounds interesting, since 85A TPU is supported and I mainly use the external input for TPU.

But you also lose the ability to print other filament from the external source - which is a bummer. Especially with the new beta feature that allows using the external spool manually as a fifth color with the AMS.

I don’t get it. What about the 4-in-1-adapter? (Virtually there’s no limit for these adapters…)

I have 2 comments:

  1. Get the Exhaust filter fan module (search in the P2S bambu lab Wiki. It helps keep the temperature right, and filters VOC’s (bad exhaust air).

2- To answer your question, search Makerworld for the P2S TPU Feed Assist Module and you will find the printables for the P2S included in the package.
However, the thing is that BBL has not made that particular holder for the side mounted spool holder:(
I (and others) have made solutions that will accomodate the TFAM as well as a spool, and allow you to run the AMS2 as well.
Mine is based on the AMS2 pro Flipper/Riser (AMS Flipper - better access to your P1S/X1C/P2S - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld), where your AMS sits on top of the P2S and I have modified the Side Spool holder Side Spool Holder for AMS Flipper - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld, with this:

Please note: The mechanics for the unit are still on back order, hence the empty look.
The only issue I have with the new TFAM, is that it requires power from the same outlets as the AMS and Filter (there are only 2/two connectors available.

Just to be clear, my mod requires a remix of the original Spooler arm. But I found the original arm design so excellent I used it for the remix.

As pointed out by @user_2463535618 in the thread TPU Feed Assist Module - #153 by edsped there are alternate options for the module “works” being developed.

Someone may come up with an eleganty solution that meets your needs.
