New to printing. I printed a benchy and a wall electrical outlet cover. When electrical outlet covers was printing I thought the outlet holes were network holes but it turned out to be a strut that I rip out from the underside. So I learned that the struts don’t visibly show in the 3D GUI view. So now I want to print a figurine of my child playing a saxophone. I used Meshy to turn a picture into the figurine. Question: Do I need to define the struts in the X2D touch screen, or in the app, or does the printer automatically know when and where to add it’s own struts?
What you’re calling “struts” are generally referred to as “supports.” They’re added by/in the slicer software, in our case Bambu Studio, when setting up a model in a project. In many cases the default settings can be adequate, but the subject in general is fairly expansive. I would say this reference (and videos) are probably a good place to start learning about them:
