No boost tokens in almost 3 months, anyone else?

I was just looking at my system notifications and noticed the last time I received any boost tokens was June 15th. So that’s just shy of three months without boost tokens. Have they changed how tokens are handed out again, but without saying anything? Last I remember it was 1 for poor engagement (downloading/printing/boosting only quick and simple models), 2 for normal, and 3 for good engagement.

Hi, not quite three months as for you, but I haven’t received any in at least the last four weeks. Not sure if there was a change in the system, but I can say that I’m usually quite active in Makerworld…

Here. It’s been ages. I’ve even written a couple of topics about it. This happens when your workflow isn’t as intended by Bambu and your interaction is too low. Furthermore, it seems likely that the longer you participate, the less you get. I’m talking about boost to give away.

I think there have been changes but probably minor. What I really think is going on is people aren’t seeing your models to boost them.

People have learned how to use AI to churn out figure models of all kinds and are swamping the other uploads. And with AI generated images to accompany them, they look pretty enticing. There also seems to be a legitimate market for them and people paint and detail them as a hobby.

More traffic and downloads are noticed by the algorithm and those models get boosted even more.

It might be time for Bambu/MakerWorld to split figure models out as a separate category with separate galleries. Let the AI stuff compete with AI stuff.

It’s easy to see when they post actual photos that the prints generally don’t work that well but the curb appeal is definitely there.

But there are lots of all sorts of models posted. It’s getting near impossible for people to see someones’ models without specifically searching for them.

I’m not talking about receiving boosts, I’m talking about getting Boost Tokens in order to be able to boost others. I’ve been really active in downloading models across a lot of different creators for a big project, as well as rating them. This usually nets 2-3 boosts token, but I’ve had nothing

I had a 9-month gap in Boost tokens with no change in behavior on my end. The only things I can imagine caused it were what I boosted, and I let my boosts drop to 0 so I couldn’t boost anything to prove I was promoting quality models… Don’t let it bother you; you likely did nothing wrong. It’s just a very strange algorithm (probably for a good “business” reason we will never know).

Like I said, take a look at the threads I linked to - that’s exactly what they’re about. You’ll find a lot of answers there and realize that some people are in the same boat. :+1:

This issue has existed ever since Bambu, roughly speaking, changed the system about April 2025. The newer you are in the Bambu system, the more “boost” you get to pass on; after about a year, this gradually decreases bit by bit the longer you stay in the system. How exactly it works, only Bambu can say, but many people notice a sharp drop after roughly a year. For some, it happens sooner; for others, later.

You’re probably experiencing that sharp drop right now - or maybe you’ve changed your workflow; that’s also possible. But you’ll probably know better what applies to you.

At the time, Bambu made changes to reward more complex 3D prints and also analyzed whether you were printing complex models or just gimmicks. So what you print is a major factor. Nobody knows exactly what was going on back then, though - only that many people didn’t get any more boost to pass on.

I don’t see one of those from over an year.
Opened many tickets about it, their answers are just:
Your account is not flagged or limited, just need to print more and boost good quality projects (how, if I don’t get any? ai answers).

Couple of weeks ago, I printed stuff for almost 100hr print time from Makerworld. 0 boosts.

They don’t even consider if their system is bugged af… or maybe they just excluded a good portion of the userbase from getting token boosts at all to spare some credits, I wouldn’t be surprise for something like this.

I personally haven’t received any boost tokens since June, and as a creator I have also been receiving quite little boosts, with some days not getting any at all.

Definitely knew the generous boost system wasn’t going to last since it was kinda printing money lol, but it is a lil sad that I can’t boost to show appreciation anymore.

Ha, 3 months is nothing. Talk about nearly 2 years?

Weirdly, I have been given 3 boost tokens to give away every week since they changed the system… I have no idea why the system does this, but it does seem like an error…

I think it might have a lot to do with which models one prints. I don’t print very many of other people’s models, mostly using my printers for my own projects. I haven’t gotten a boost to hand out for a very long time. However I do receive boosts on a regular basis, averaging around one a day. However, the boosts I receive have mostly been just for my more sophisticated models.

My experience is that I only receive boost tokens if I rate models I have printed and have added photos to the ratings.
If I rate without a photo I don’t get any tokens.

I think that lines up with my experience as well. I don’t download and print nearly as much stuff anymore, but the few times I have and took the time to share a photo along with a rating I have earned a boost token or two to give away. I think it usually took at least a few ratings before it triggered a boost from MakerWorld.

Maybe I’ll test this theory - I haven’t gotten a boost in over a year. I’ll just rate something and see what happens. Well, it would be a miracle if I ever got a boost again.

Update: I’ve rated several prints with photo - let’s see if anything happens. I also went over the MW changes again in the meantime. By now, I’m certain:

I’m sure I’m in “Boost-Jail” because I never boosted complex models as requested, but just everyday things. No idea how to get out of this:

The models you choose to boost will now directly impact how many Boost Tokens you receive. Thoughtfully giving Boost Tokens to ambitious 3D models.

At this point, I don’t remember what a Boost looks like.

I get them regularly. Literally a couple this week. Not sure what might be going on with others accounts. Mine is fine.
