No Boost tokens received since 11.2024

Hi everyone!:waving_hand: I noticed that I haven’t received a single Boost token to give away since the end of 2024. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong, and what exactly do I need to do now to start receiving Boost tokens again? Right after my registration on the site, I had 6 tokens, but they expired because I didn’t know how to use them and didn’t realize they had an expiration date. Since then, my token count has been stuck at zero. So, I guess I won’t be getting any more tokens ever?)

the system changed few times in the past two years, you can only receive tokens when you print moderate and complex designs only printing simple designs is no longer considered viable to earn these tickets.

also if i am being correct it should be two prints 30+ minutes and these two counts before every mondays.

this is as far as what i am experiencing aswell.

To be honest, there are too many restrictions just to be able to support a creator. It shouldn’t be this hard to show your appreciation. I mean, it’s been two years, and I still haven’t been able to meet their requirements to get even a single token?) I dont know, maybe they should just give out a small number of free tokens every month or year…

Tokens are only given by verified successful MW prints during a period. So, there are a few restrictions:

  • file must be downloaded from MW or printed using Handy app
  • printer must be connected online and can sync with your print history
  • no violations like “boost for boost”

If you’re using Lan mode or you’re not opening the studio project from the green button on MW website, there’s a chance that it won’t be recorded properly and so no tokens would be given.

Also, as already confirmed (somewhat) by support, although they didn’t made it public, and without previous notice to users since at least November 2025 (maybe before), every print that is not started by the “Print” button on the slicer or Handy App does not count towards a successful print.

Can you rate your past prints? If not, then there it is the answer. If checking the ratings tab shows all your past printed models then they should count towards tokens. If not all prints show up, then it’s the same behavior i have been seeing since months.

If after slicing the user uses the “Send to Printer” button, it will not count. No ratings will be possible and also does not count to receive tokens. If the print is also started through the Handy App, it counts as a print and is eligible to count toward tokens. It’s only when sending the print that both the Handy App and the slicer shows this behavior, even having worked prior to the change, since i remember (i always used it that way and never sent a print directly through the slicer/App).

This is an important issue brought by me in another topic and at the moment many creators are getting less and less ratings to their models because of it.

Thanks for the explanation. That’s probably exactly where the problem lies. I don’t have the habit of just printing models with a single click. I always prefer to review the model first, adjust the slicer settings, or add whatever I think is necessary before sending it to the printer. So, I guess I’ll just forget about those tokens and look for other ways to say thank you to the creators.

You can still adjust the settings. I always do and always get tokens.

I think the issue is that he does send the print to the printer instead of clicking the “Print” button in the slicer. That does indeed not work and i also don’t get the change.

But as always, i may be wrong. It’s only something that happens in my case and in my findings.

But you are right, adjusting slicer settings, even changing them completely works and is counted if, and if only, the “Print” button is clicked and the print is initialized through the Slicer/App.

for example, today I printed 2 models, taking about 1 hour per print. I added supports and an outer brim. Then I clicked ‘Slice all’ in Bambu Studio, and then ‘Print plate’—just like I always do. It is a correct way?

There is no correct way but the way Bambu wants you to do it, since the hidden change.

By the looks of it, the way you did it counts towards downloads, print, rating and should also be accountable for tokens (although there is no explanation on how they are given).

If after the print is finished you go to the ratings tab and see that model to be rated, it means it counted.

If I’m understanding this correctly, “Send” sends it to the SD card and doesn’t initiate the print? The purpose being that you could send a bunch of stuff to the printer at once from your computer, then print them later using either the printer menu or the app? Using it as a sort of queue to line up print jobs like if your computer access is limited or that’s just how your workflow goes.

If so, I could see why this doesn’t trigger a successful print and thus, the eligibility of getting a boost token. I’m guessing there is either no way to verify that something was printed after it gets stored on the SD card or the code to enable this check is problematic (or low-priority). If it was working before, I’m betting somebody probably gamed the system by sending jobs to the printer but not actually printing them.

If only I knew, my friend, if only I knew how exactly it works! :man_shrugging:
But one thing I know for sure: because of people gaming the system, honest creators lose the chance to be fairly rewarded for their hard work.

I’ve been trying to earn tokens for months and it never happens. I usually look for templates on the MakeWorld website, use the green “open in Bamboo Studio” button. The program opens, I make the necessary adjustments, then I laminate and print. Should that count as earning tokens or not?
What am I doing wrong?
