No Boosts or has changed

For the last 2 Mondays I have not gotten any boosts. I normally get 2 or 3 boosts.

Have they changed how you get boosts, or is it just me?

I do leave reviews on the models that I print, and I print a lot of crap (The Wife says).

She does like a lot of stuff I print. Just not the grump ones I name in wife’s name, JonaMona lol.

Just got one boost now; it came in my email. It’s not enough that I do leave reviews, but if I can’t leave a boost, it’s not fair on the model designers. Is it because the makerworld has gotten so big for them that they do not give it to you and they think they do not have to try that much?

Hard to say. Only MW knows their reasoning. I personally suspect it’s the gotten big thing and no need to really try. Some bean counter can point to less money going out the door. If you watch the new models category for a while, models are still coming like rain. Not really much need to incentivize designers. Or is there?

Can only speak for myself but I’ve backed off on what I post here. It’s hard to get eyes on models and niche stuff doesn’t do well without eyes. At least for me they’ve hit the pain point where I won’t just upload something I think others might like. If it’s a cool project for me that’s fine. No reason not to.

Things used to be much better boosts-wise. Now they are few and far between. They were a nice perk for posting models and it used to be you could get good exposure. Now, not so much and people need to cultivate followings on social media platforms all on their own to get eyes (generally speaking).

Just my opinion. :slightly_smiling_face:

I think you are right spot on, mate.

Well if we consider that 1 boost is the equivalent of $1 , every monday Bambu Labs gives away how many dollars? If we get new users every day/week/month, how much does that amount grow?

They keep all that stuff secret, I believe. If they explain the workings in detail it gives those who game the system a roadmap.

I suspect that with AI able to generate complete models and “photo” images good enough to fool Bambu, even with the meager rewards, it’s probably worth the effort to have AI generate tons of submissions.

Kind of doubt this situation will get any better. My money is on it getting worse since Bambu seems reluctant to police the submissions for AI slop.

Hmm. Odd. I got 2 just today, and in past weeks I have gotten 3 all at once. I wonder why they wouldn’t give you more?

I do leave reviews quite a lot 99.9% of the time. So I do not know why, and I did get one in the afternoon, which normally I get before noon, and I thought it was funny just to leave this post; I got 1 boost from them.

I rarely get any boosts anymore since about autmn last year.
A friend told me nothing changed for him. Maybe it is about the models.
Also the points systems changed somehow, for normal and exclusive models the same.
Could be more transparent, but it is up to Makerworld who makes the rules.

I have no boosts to give since last year November. It’s not “it’s just you”. It’s Makerworld that changed the rules and not everyone has been getting them (for whatever reason). You get them, great! Others don’t!

This goes in line with creators models not being rated as before and also the rewards that are not being given as before also.

But hey, good for you

If you look through this forum, you will realize that is not true.

There is a long history and a lot of people that share the experience of boosts not working for them.

How fast are you adding AI creations with no real photos? My guess the faster you can add more AI stuff the more boosts you will get.

I really think this is a simple math thing, Bambu gives me a boost to give to a creator, that boost in the end cost Bambu money, say $1, every day we gain more users, and more creators, and more models, this means more money bambu has to give away to keep up, some creators are creating models at a crazy pace while others take longer, How much money can Bambu dump into this program, and now the opensource folks are pushing to break Bambu Labs back and shut them down, so my guess is they are watching the money and trying to stay on top.
