Let’s say I have 3 parts in one object to print. One I want color red, one I want color green, the other one I don’t care BUT I do NOT want to change filament. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks!
Your description isn’t as clear as it could be.
- Are you currently able to select each part or is that something you have a problem doing?
- Do you mean you want to use an AMS and you have one?
- Are the parts close to each other?
- How big are the parts?
Please, provide a screenshot of the plate so we can identify a solution once we have sufficient information to help you.
As @MalcTheOracle pointed out, we could use more info. The changing color ‘but I do not want to change filament’ is confusing.
But… I’m going to assume you have AMS, take a guess as to what you are trying to do and give you an answer that is hopefully not random. lol
If you can pick to print by object rather than by layer and put the three items on one plate. Select by Object ordering, then make the first object red and move it to one side of the plate. Now select the other two, set them to the color you want, right click and group them into an assembly. Bambu studio will show you were they need to be to avoid collisions with the other color. During printing it’ll only do one filament change when it moves to the second set of objects.
Yes, I can select each part and color them.
Yes, I have AMS.
Yes, parts are close to each other
Regular size.
Let me put a use case for it: I am trying to add a frame for a color Lithophane. As you know, each layer has its own color and if I add a frame outside with different color, it will create too many filament change. Actually I don’t care about the color of the frame. So I want to set the color of the frame to be “random/don’t care/don’t change current filament”. Hope this help.
Thanks for your answer, but I want 3 parts with different color, not 3 objects.
No, sorry it doesn’t.
You gave an example of a project where the two items would normally printed separately and said you want them printed together.
Then you said it didn’t bother you if it changed colours.
You need to provide at least a screenshot and a clear idea of what your problem is and how you would like to fix it.
You are asking us to guess based on an incomplete picture.
For example, I have a color Lithophane that need to change filament 10 times. If I add a frame to it, no matter what color I set for this frame, it will make more filament changes. If I can set this new object as “don’t care”, what I expect is that it still do 10 times filament changes, when it print the part for the new object, use whatever in the nuzzle WITHOUT changing filaments.
Maybe right click the frame → Flush options → Flush into this object.
The normal process is to print the lithophane and stand separately.

- Press the “Add Plate” button from the toolbar.
- Drag your stand to the second plate.
- Change the colour of the stand to anything you want.
- Print the first plate with the lithophane.
- Print the second plate with the stand.
The lithophane will only perform the swaps required it needs.
The stand will print in one solid colour.
Thanks for the suggestion. too bad it only works for objects not a part in the object.
I can’t help you.

Sure, np. that’s why I put this as feature request. It’s not something we can do now.
You didn’t, adding it to the caption doesn’t do anything.
You assigned it to the category called MakerWorld, I will move it to the Feature Request category for you.
This sounds a lot like “purge into object” as it will simply build the uncolored object out of purge and whatever is spooled up.
I need to purge to parts, not objects.
