Not getting mobile notifications when printing from "USB files"

Does anyone else get this issue?

Printing from my phone and computer, notifications work absolutely spot on.

If I send to the printer, and print from there it’s like I lose a load of functionality… whereby I don’t get any notifications at all on my phone such as issues with printing or letting me know the print is done.

Surely it can’t just be me?

That’s how it is for everyone. Notifications only come if the task is launched via the cloud.

That’s pretty wild. Is there a particular reason for that? Seems like something that really shouldn’t be a thing.
