I have the P1S Bambu 3D printer. I’ve been using the Generic PETG filament on the external spool (not AMS) for about 6 months. I just got the Bambu upgrade and now when I configure to print with it the attached message and the send command is greyed after hitting “Print Plate” If I select PLA all goes well? Infact any filament choice but PLA results in this issue. Bambu Studio only seems now to recognize the external single spool with PLA. but not other filaments.
I found how to make it work but I don’t understand why. As I recall when you entered the filament type on the PREPARE screen, Bambu Studio used to transfer that name to the DEVICE and that can be seen on the DEVICE tab screen. Now that is not happening. As such if the last print used a different filament than what you are now printing the software assumes you are using 2 different filaments for this project but is confused as you aren’t using an AMS. I went to the DEVICE screen and clicked on the Filament Icon and set it to PETG. Once that was done the issue cleared up and I am presently printing using PETG filament. Can someone give me feedback on this?
Thank you! Your workflow was the right one. I don’t own AMS, I was able to send the file to the printer after changing the icon in the device tab.
Good job, hope they’ll fix it soon.
