Hello, has anyone experienced collision issues during printing? I’m fairly convinced it’s a slicer error. For several days now, I’ve been trying to print very simple boxes without any success. The support has been nonexistent, and I’d like to ask if anyone knows a Bambu Lab contact address to file a complaint. Thank you in advance.
Which sparse infill pattern are you using?
Some of the types where they cross on each layer tend to cause this.
There is an option to lift the nozzle when traversing across infill. That might help also.
Collisions are fairly common during printing. Grid infill, warping, curling,…
However, there have also been issues about slicer behavior which tend to lead to accumulate in the forum. So far, I, at least, have not observed this issue on my prints or the forum.
If you can share pic’s, settings, version numbers, there may be forum members who can help.

Hi Gerrit, that happened when I changed infill type, then I reinforced the solid, after now 2 weeks of tring to print my box every single prints failed somehow, now I just finished my 15th spool of filament, Yesterday Ordered another brand (non Bambu filament) if donìt fix my problem I’ll sell the h2d and take another printer.
Hi Eno, to be honest collisions started when I updated the slicer, I wrote to the support and they ask me to add support.
I tried another grid infill and I make at leas another 2 horrible prints without crash!
Still remain quality problem, I think I printed more than 200 pieces now (at least 2.4 hours each) trying all possible combination without success, my question is: why if I print using default parameter cause failure? it is normal?
Yes, unfortunately the grid infill choice as a default deverses criticism. Those speedbumps it creates are not good. I always change infill to rectilinear as it avoids the bumps. Or even honeycomb for special prints.
Nevertheless, there are many other things that can lead to nozzle collisions. Since you appear to be trying to print a box, these shapes are prone to both warping and curling. As a newly deposited layer cools on top of a partially cooled (i.e. soft) layer, it shrinks, pulling up the edges of a print and into the path of the nozzle. At a part level, it is warping. At a feature level (corners, overhangs, support branches) it is curling.
In my experience, it is very helpful to use self-dried filament. New filament is frequently moist after its sea voyage and moisture has a hughe effect on thermal behavior, in particular during the criticla cool down.
May I ask what material you are printing? If it is anything other than PLA Basic, I’d recommend drying it before another attempt.
Another item to look at are the edges and corners of the first layer. If they have been pulled off the build plate, the plate needs one or more very thorough scrubs and, depending on plate type and print, glue, brims and maybe even increased bed and nozzle temps (in ascending order of likelyhood and sequence).
Also, since you were given guidance to add support, do you have collisions on/in the part, part edges and/or the supports themselves? The first would indicate the infill choice as a root cause while the other two would indicate curling.
These are all issues that can usually be tackled by drying and a few clever settings.

PS: Just on the off chance that we are seeing an issue with the Studio update. What version are you experiencing the issues with? And of course, Studio can also be downgraded.
Go to the others tab in the slicer and disable “reduce infill retraction”. It’s enabled by default. This should alleviate your issue.
If I were having this problem myself, things I would ask myself.
1 What is the nozzle colliding with, is it colliding with the side walls of the printer, the top glass, the build plate?
2 When did it start this behavior , did it start with this particular model or does it do it with other models, did I change something on the printer,
3 If I want to ask the community for help what information do they need to help me solve this issue.
FInallyI made my fist decent printer, (not perfect but decent) I just replying the process making some custom seam positioning and increasing the general infill density.
I’m using Bambulab PETG HF (I will make some test with another brand witch come dried from factory).

Be a bit wary of the claim that filament does not need drying though. Even if it has been dried after production, it has been sitting dockside and travelling on the 7-seas for weeks. And maybe even shipped from a Norther European port down to you. So in particular for PETG, the only safe assumption is that it arrives fully soaked as theses bags do not fully keep out moisture.

It is all very nice and well to know that some bags keep moisture out better than others. But since we rarely know how long any particular roll has actually been sitting in it, factory drying and better bags are pretty meaningless…

Filament brand has nothing to do with your issue, and you still haven’t given us any useful details to explain your problem. What is the nozzle colliding with?
