Nozzle hits print on overhangs

I have read and heard that slowing the printer down and heating up the print head helps. I appreciate the details. Secondly, I have used the standard “Strength” printing default of 25% and at half speed for both the A1 and the X1. And it seemed to work OK before the last upgrade.

I am waiting on parts to try the X1.

But if I really need to print 100% and a single color I use my old QIDI X Plus. It does not hit the print or the supports but is a lot slower than either BamBu.

Thats a hard overhang! Looks like you set your printer pretty well but maybe you could slow your print speed down? Unless you have already tried

Hi there!
I ended up running into the same issue recently:

TLDR → try turning on Z-hopping to auto or normal and check your flow (dynamics) calibrations.

What seemed to be the case for my Bambu P1S is that in the corner of the overhang right before where the nozzle goes back over the previous layer, that some filament was heaping up. Then the nozzle would eventually bump into this protrusion and mess up my print!

By checking the flow dynamics this problem lessened a little bit and then the Z-hopping made sure that the nozzle would no longer get caught on this bump by lifting over it instead!
*Since my printer is still very very new, I had not done a flow dynamics calibration yet. I hoped that the Bambu filament settings would be fine the way it came, but if you haven’t done this yet either then this is your sign to give it a look!!

Hope this helps someone, my printer went from not being able to do overhangs, to being able to reach an 80% overhang with no troubles or supports whatsoever.
