Nozzle kicks support structure over at almost the end of the print

I am a proud P2S combo owner since almost a month (and ignore the X2D for now). I’ve sucessfully printed models in PLA and PCTG. One print I am struggling with is the AMS 2 Pro Saver Snag Cutter V5.0. I’ve uploaded this timelapse that shows the issue: https://youtu.be/TAUmPJmK3vQ

From the original 3mf I’ve already separated the pieces out so that I can print them one by one and added a brim to increase the bed adhesion. I am using PCTG from 3djake. I’ve dried it (AMS shows 12%). I am using the textured PEI sheet that came with the printer. I washed it and I am using 3dlac to again help the 1st layer sticking. But the first layer does not seem to be the problem. As some point the printer tried to print on top of the supports and when it does it, one of the supports is kicked over. It happened multiple times already. And I am not the only user that has printing problems for the model (according to the replies on makerworld).

I wonder if there is anything that can be done to address the problem? E.g. does it make sense to try going down with the print speed? Especially on the layer that goes on top of the supports? Any other ideas?

would you mind sharing your specific 3mf you´ve used? Id be interested in the settings of the support. When I opened it it just had the supports on the object settings not in global. My guess is some inconsistency is building up on the supports and at some point the nozzles retraction is not enough anymore which causes the first movement of the support.

Thanks for taking a look. Here it is. I am mostly trying the last 2 plates (Reprint 1 and 2).

Looking at the preview it seems that the support on layer 142 and 144 is using a low flow for just the right branch of the tree.

If you still got the support that got kicked from the nozzle you could watch for adhesion problems in these layers. If thats the case I could imagine the grid top of the tree support was causing a slight warp on the top causing the tree support to lift above of the low flow layers.

The standard style for tree support of the objects seems to have a bit more filament but looks like consistent flow and a bit sturdier

Yes, I still have them. But I probably lack experience to tell what the issue is. I can make closeup images, if that helps.

When I watched it, it looked like applying the new layer while moving dragged the tree align and then it fell. Hence I was wondering if I should try to print is slower.

this will be the case the question is why is it reaching the layer at all.The Z height should be at one level while applying the layer and that should be underneath the nozzle. In the most cases its the print that is warping and moving and leaving its set z height.

Did you start another print with the tree support style standard?Since it looks sturdier and has a the same flow chart on the preview I guess this could even fix the problem.

I did not try to reprint, the maker configured “tree slim”, I could try normal (manual) with tree Hybrid:

Ok I dont think its due to warping. It looks like the filament has problems with overhangs on the top surface of the tree branches. It looks like the right one should have more branches for the flat part at the top. I prefer tree supports but you can use whatever support is working for you.

On the right site the filament on the top is running down the branches and forming some blops above the actual Z height of your nozzle which probaly caused it to collide

Edit: to sum it up,make sure whatever support you are using it has a lot of structure on the top for building the flat layers on
