I have a problem that has been discussed a thousand times online in this form or similar. However, I’ve already tried all the known solutions: I checked the 4 and the other 3 screws on the nozzle holder. I’ve adjusted the Z-offset, switched to a smooth plate, changed nozzles, run calibrations, performed a full factory reset on the printer, and redone the calibrations. And yes, of course, I always wash the bed with soap and warm water.
Until yesterday, I was still able to print normally with great quality, and now this is happening—see the photo. I’ve been using the AMS a lot lately, so I performed a cold pull cleaning, and there were indeed some residual filament from other colors that needed to be removed.
What I don’t understand is that the quality gets worse with each layer. In the image, I printed three layers, with each subsequent layer half the size of the one before it, to see the progression from Layer 1 to Layer 3.
The nozzle is clean. Do I need to adjust z offset further? But then sometimes filament wont stick to bed and get dragged around?
Printer: A1 Mini
Filament: Sunlu PLA+ (works perfect till now, yes I dryed it before use)
Nozzle: Official bambu 0,2 mm
Bed: BIQU Cryogrip frostbite (works better in my case than textured bambu one)
This is the exact same thing that is happening to me AND MY FRIENDS and it started a few days ago.
Bad update? Some anti BIQU settings get incorporated into the software somehow?
There are quite a few possibilities. It seems that the nozzle doesn’t lift. This could be due to a problem with the Z axis (dusty/stuck slides, loose belts, or linear ball bearings). Another possibility is that the hot end is loose or there is a temperature failure in the hot end or cooling fan. Check connectors for hot end, fans and stepper motors. Hopefully, you will get it working again soon.
I’m experiencing the same issues with my A1 printer, which began about three days ago. I’ve tried various fixes, including cleaning the bed, changing nozzles and filaments, recalibrating the system, applying all updates, and attempting to slow down the first layer. Despite these efforts, the problem persists, and I’m at a loss as to how or why it’s happening. Since I’m still learning, I avoid touching any settings because I don’t want to encounter issues like this that I can’t fix. Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this problem?
Going to start watching this thread, I thought I was going crazy. I’ve had dozens of successful prints using my new BIQU Glacier build plate using the bambu cool plate supertack setting but out of nowhere first layers now scrape against the build plate, I tried re calibrating multiple times, tightening down nozzle holder screws, trying different nozzles (both official and third party) but first layers just look awful now and if they’re not completely torn up they have these weird patterned waves in them
Okay, so, it was a multifactor problem for me but I’ll try and list the steps I took to get my prints in working order again after experiencing similar problems to this thread. I did quite a few things but I’ll highlight the steps that I think actually helped in bold, the rest can be considered “overdue maintenance” on my part
Leveled my X axis rail (took apart bottom and reteethed the Z axis belt so the X axis was finally level (it was unlevel since day one and always bugged me) I loosened and then retightened the screws connecting the z axis brackets to the x axis while the x axis sat on two identical height objects so there is now 0 sag in any direction.
re-tensioned all belts
re-lubricated all axis and their bearings
tightened every hotend screw, especially the 4 hidden behind the black heat block where the sensors reside
addressed some stripped screws in the hotend that weren’t biting anymore, using a piece of tiny plastic in the hole to give the screws something to bite onto.
tightened the Y axis carriage screws in the bed (the ones under the rubber things, not the tramming screws)
replaced nozzle (I’m still not 100% on this being being a main issue but it’s a big troubleshooting step)
properly trammed the bed as per the official Bambu docs (now that my X Axis was level this actually went as expected and actually helped this time)
used a proper filament profile for my brand of filament instead of relying on “Generic PLA” for 90% of my prints (it’s worked perfectly fine in the past but not for these recent prints. Even my waterlogged PLA is printing beautifully again after using a profile meant for the brand)
avoided using “dynamic flow calibration” before printing, I have a feeling something’s up with my hotend’s eddy sensor (bambu assistant periodically flagged it as a problem) and before I properly replace it this seemed to help.
Of course if you do any of these be sure to do the usual calibration steps again (noise cancellation/resonance shaping/bed leveling) for me this did the trick.
