So Let me stat out to say I have been fighting Flashforge printers for a yea now ad I am all but done with them. So I go out 2 weeks ago ad purchase this H2D ad it’s hefty frign price tag. In the last 2 weeks I have had errors with extruder not pulling my 3k spools, yea I know the machine can’t do it…but my 300 dollar FF ca as crap as it is, so I have got myself ok with this issue. So today trying to print a part that I have sold in PA612. Using PA6 for white lettering. That is why I bought dual extruder machine. my first go round trying to printPA612 would not extruder. So I dissemble the extruder to see why, nothing there o broken filament nothing. Put the extruder all back together and get a print started it runs for about a hour ad low and behold I get a Extruder switch error hall effect error. So now dissemble the extruder again, looked like the ribbon may have been ot seated. So I take out the ribbon reseat it and try the extruder switch works great. Put the extruder back together checked it one last time and it worked, restarted my print from scratch, love wasting expensive PA612, It goes through its leveling ad such and then kicks out the same error. So I dissemble the extruder now the thrird time today, ribbon cable looked fine no issues, tried the switch worked great. Got it all back together tried it before I started the print, worked great. Same thing kicked out the error again during leveling.
So ow I am working on this printer more than I am printing on after paying 2K. So I submitted a ticket who knows when I will hear from them ad get whatever part I need. Then going to have to dissemble the extruder and pull the feed mechanism out to replace the ribbon. SO TELL ME WHY IT WAS A GOOD PRUCHASE???
I have parts I need printed before Monday, guess I will have to try the Flashforgh again… Funny having this huge flagship printer already broke!!
And don’t start with this is a hobby BS! I have hobbies 2d printing is not one! I bought this because I hear how fn great Bambu is, LOL really. So tell me folks what happens to the 15 year old kid who gets his 3d printer for a birthday gift and when it braeks they say “ here are the parts fix it yourself" I have been in electronics service for 30 years at my job, I can take it apart and get it back together, I just don’t want to work on 3d printers all day long! So yea tell me how great Bambu is and why I spent 2k on this massive paperweight!
it’s not man just return it and move on
You’ll likely hear back from them quickly, but it’s unlikely you’ll get the parts you need quickly, sorry about that. Eventually they will get you running again, but it can be a real slog of videos, repeated answers and pointless experiments to get to that point.
Did you make a mistake? Yeah, probably. Any chance you are still in the return window?
OK, I recognize two things.
- yer pissed.
- You don’t want to hear it.
I’m not asking this to throw gas on the fire. I’m trying to find you a solution and this is where I always start.
I need to ask you a critical question. In all 3D printers, PA is the flagship of pain in the donkey. What process did you go though to dry your PA?
Bought from Best Buy may look into just returning this thing. Been doig some research on Bambu and the post are not good. I wish a company would just make a good printer and stand behind it. The thing I really think id funny is go to any forum and there are folks that live and bleed the brand. Flashforge is a good example. Had lots of sofware (firmware issues) but if you post your frustrations you get “user error”, “I have printed 10 billion hours not a single failure” and I am seeing that here as well. If more folks would just stand up and say no more and speak with their wallet then we might get a good printer for a change.
LOL I have been printing with PA for a year. When I started out I had an email exchange with Polymaker support and we went over how to print with this sutff. My fiber comes right out of the package and spends it first 24 hours in a dry box at temps around 80c.The fiber stays in the box drying the entire time I have the roll. So it is dry very dry. Not to poe at you but tell me how went filament is going to cause a extruder switch issue. I mean maybe it could can’t see how. But no one has told me why I should have bought this? I guess that all the printers are the same, maybe Prusa is better, don’t know. LLike I said everyone tells me how Bambu won’t rust, bust or collect dust and I am not seeing that nor reading that in reviews. They have a F at the BBB in Austin….A F that is sad!
This reply makes no sense…
I have the H2D but do all of my engineering filaments in a Qidi. The H2D has a bunch of problems to start with and elevated temperatures just add more problems, so it’s a PLA only machine for me.
I don’t have one but maybe the X2D is better.

TBH, I’m still very new to 3D printing. Most of my problems have been from filament issue and not knowing enough. I’m learning. But over my 60 years, I’ve found that if you don’t pitch in, even when you don’t know a lot, you neve learn anything. Mostly what happens is someone tells my WHY it can’t be that, and I learn. I knew early on that moisture is the bain of all 3D printers. So I built myself a nuclear filament drying chamber. It’s what I know, so rather than keep silent, I share what I know. Some of what your talking about, I don’t understand. But I’m willing to listen.
Don’t get me wrong I do think print quality issues can for sure be moisture no doubt I also accept the fact that I don’t know it all either but I spent 30 years in the broadcast industry working on electronics in verity stressful situations, CBS does not like equipment failures. So how something works I have a grasp of that and I don’t see what this printer is doing. I also am very dissapointed in Bambu for not having the service and support of a good company. I heard they were the best! Once again I listened to folks that cary the flag for Bambu. I don’t care about brand, I want a printer that works and works well! Yes, there will be issues, OK but it should not be the norm…Maintenance is not an issue.
Agreed. I bought my A1 because of the reputation. It was an out of box and it worked. And it did. It’s my learning machine, and so far I have learned a lot. And I will also agree that one of it’s biggest failings is that customer service for the US is based in China.
I live in Phoenix. So far my printer has been down for 14 days. They have supporting me though the process. Sent me parts. But 14 days is a long time. I honestly believe they need to retool their Austin location to support customer service issue and repairs. Also maybe contact a tech in every major city and make them their contracted repair mobile repair tech.
But I’m just a 60 year old with a new hobby printer. what do i know… Oh wait, 40 years of Customer service/Sales experience.
Maybe…
