I have a external spool on the left nozzle and I loaded PA6 in my HT on my right nozzle. I loaded the filament in the right nozzle and when I slice it shows me the correct filament to correct nozzle. When I hit the print button I get this page (see pic) and it says the filamans are not mapped. So I click on the left nozzle and pick the external spool but when I click on the right I am unable to select the HT AMS and can only select the external spool as well. So what am I ding wrong?
PA6-CF is not AMS-compatible. If you put PA6-CF in the AMS HT, the AMS HT can only act as a heated/dry storage box with manual/bypass feeding — it cannot be selected as an AMS source for that filament.
For the right nozzle, select External Spool / manual feed, even if the spool is physically sitting inside the AMS HT. In that setup the AMS HT is not being used as an AMS; it is just acting as the filament container/dryer.
So you are not doing anything wrong by being unable to select the AMS HT for PA6-CF. Bambu Studio is blocking that because PA6-CF is marked as not compatible with all AMS series.
Really? I was told the HT was for the higher temp filaments. So If I select the external spool with the PA6 in the AMS HT is it going to feed ok since the HT is driven by motors that the printer controls?
Just because I didn’t specify that I turned that off first does not mean I’m printing carbon-fiber unicorn materials in a sealed mystery box using factory defaults and pure optimism.
I also never said I was using a Bambu Lab machine for that specific print. What I said was:
“I print PPA/PPS-CF from mine with zero issues, but it all depends on the setup.”
That was the whole point. The setup matters: printer, drying, chamber, nozzle, plate, profile, cooling, and everything around it. Without that context, assuming the exact machine and exact defaults is doing a bit too much detective work with too little evidence.
No hard feelings though — we have all accidentally over-diagnosed a forum post at least once. That is basically how the internet stays employed.
Sorry I thought topic was about not getting the filaments out of the AMS and why, where the AMS HT with fibers being automatically filtered out without warning as a possibility
