Quick question. I just started designing for 3d printing and have a model that I’ve made specifically for the upcoming Greek mythology contest. I got eveything together and been working on perfecting the description and print profiles. Uploaded everything two days ago to make sure everything is ready for the contest and just would need to submit it… Now I’m looking over the rules and it states that the project needs to be uploaded during the contest period…
Is there a grace period or do I just delete and re-upload once the contest officially launches?
As long as you didn’t publish it you should be ok to delete and reupload, during the contesr, as per the rules. Copy and paste your text somewhere to save a bit of time later.
Just save your model page as a draft and publish when the contest launch.
Technically it might be against the rules… but if no one notices it, you’re in no danger. They rely only on user reports, so if another user reports it, they will check the date of the upload (and still they may do nothing anyway).
Yep, appriciate the info. Looks like they changed the way files upload. I couldn’t even select the old file to enter the contest.
You have to upload your model after whatever the contest date 0:00 UTC or else it’s not within the contest period and you won’t be able to select it.
So you can upload before the contest is open for submission because it usually takes them a while to realize that the contest day has arrived. I think it was like 10-12 hours past 0:00 UTC today that the contest moved from “Upcoming Contest” to “Ongoing Contests”. But you can’t upload before the official contest date.

Ok, thanks for the info! It’s my first contest, so wasn’t sure on the process and all that. Now that I have seen how the whole process works, I’ll be better prepared for the next one. I got the files upload and in the contest now!
