Only Exclusive Points for Cash - Did I miss something?

I seem to miss somewhere the announcement that now it seems only exclusive points can be cashed in whereas last time I looked it was points, I know I had a long way to go until I hit the number needed but now unless I somehow start earning exclusive points the points I’ve collected are quite limited in what I can spend them on.

Yes, I spotted that the other day.. but I’m new to this (only had the Exclusive option for about a month) so I don’t know if it’s a change in policy, or just the way it’s always been.

AFAIK the exclusive points can also be traded in for vouchers, and doing that gives you a better rate than converting them to cash. In fact, I did a spreadsheet so I could compare the two

As you’ll have seen in the MakerWorld portal, you need a minimum of $100 before you can cash in the exclusive points to $. I’m not sure how/where currency conversion applies (does MakerWorld do this before the transfer, or leaves it to your bank), so if anyone has experience of this it’d be interesting to know.

Are you sure it used to be different? I think you’re confusing something. As far as I can remember, it was only ever possible to convert exclusive points into real money - never normal points.

Normal points could actually only be used for gift cards.

However, you can also use exclusive points together with normal points to receive gift cards.

When I look at the announcement back then, in October 2024, it is described exactly the same way. At what point was it supposed to be different?

Where should the announcement be? I can’t find anything about it?

It has always been that only exclusive points could be exchanged for cash.

Perhaps I’ve just miss-read it, I was sure last time I looked it was counting my normal points against cash redemption but perhaps I just assumed that’s what it was saying, never mind like said earlier I can still redeem them for vouchers.

It’s always been only exclusive points could be redeemed for cash.
