P1 series Firmware 01.05.04.07BETA & PandaTouch

Looks like the new firmware has locked out the PandaTouch. All it does now is show printer info, not able to control anything. Can anyone else confirm this? PandaTouch still works on my other P1 machines that we not updated to the latest BETA.

Seriously? I really wanted to do that upgrade. Getting tired of the war between corporations with consumers as the victims.

I just installed the PandaTouch less then 2 weeks ago! But if this is going to be the way I may turn it into a Klipper pad…I have downgraded and all is back to normal. I like to have the latest firmware installed on my Bambu printers, maybe the next non beta version will allow it.

It basically wrecked communication with the app for me as well (doesn’t update progress etc) - so I guess that’s why.

So is it a bug then? Not intentional?

looks like BTT should have a fix in the next week or so

I’m thinking so, yeah. They’re usually verbal about blocking things intentionally.

Mine works correctly, it just changed and required a new pass-code to be put in so it would connect to printer but all functions work fine

I just tried again but same thing, the BTT pad makes it look like the printer is taking the commands but the printer does not respond. But if you set it from BS/BH/Display the pad just mirrors it.

BTT is saying about a week for a fix. Check github issues for more info. Linked above.

yeah, that was me that posted the link. But im wondering how the person above is not having the issue so I tried again.

Sorry about that.

I tried LAN mode, worked ok. Like you I have had no luck otherwise.

I can wait though.

Yeah I stay on cloud, I start alot of prints away from my LAN

I have been waiting a month now and it seems like its always next week that the beta will be out…I have had a useless info screen for a month now. BTT is a great company and I use all their electronics in my Vorons and my Micron, I wouldnt think of using another brand when building a printer but this Panda touch has been useless since the 3rd or 4th day of ownership since I use Bambu’s Beta firmware

Thanks! But why isn’t this information on your Bigtree Wiki, and I also did not get any message three, mail, aliexpress or other social channels.
At this moment, i unsuscribed from the beta test program, and have the annoying situation that the printer asks for an firmware upgrade quite often…

Have you read the disclaimer when you ordered the panda touch that future bambu updated firmware could stop functionnality of the panda touch. Good thing BTT can circumvent the limitations created by the new firmare, it could have simply render it useless for good if they could not but we all took this risk when purchasing. That it will take a week, 2 weeks or several months is better than just ending up with a brick, we all knew that this could happen.

Hello,

This is a response I received from BTT. I inquired about incompatibilities with the new firmware on the p1S V01.06.00.00 and the panda touch.

Good People!

We hope that you have been enjoying the use of your Panda Touch units and we want you to know that we have been extremely hard at work on expanding what they can do. In this update, we want to provide you with information about the latest Bambu firmware as well as what we have been working on. Read on for more.

Firmware Updates:

Recently firmware V01.06.00.00 was released for the P1S. This firmware disables control over the hotend and bed heaters and print start functionality when your printer is operating in cloud mode. This functionality remains completely enabled if your printer is operating in LAN only mode. Bambu performed this modification to prevent conflicting commands coming from two different sources (the local LAN and the cloud) while the printer is in operation. In order to work within this understandable concern, BIGTREETECH has enabled cloud connected mode for printers connected to the Panda Touch. Cloud connected mode uses a cloud connection to send commands to certain printers instead of the local LAN connection. By sending the commands through the cloud there is no potential conflict with commands coming via two different channels. When printers are set to use cloud connected mode on the Panda Touch, the user will once again be able to control the functions that are lost if only the local LAN is used to interface.

This firmware is currently in beta.

If you would not like to participate in the beta but would still like to use cloud connected mode to re-enable the lost functionality then please keep an eye out for the coming release of firmware version 1.0.4 on our main github repo

Thank you all again for your support. We love making products that help you to make!

Everything is back with the beta PT firmware.

How did you get it, I’m supposed to be on Panda Touch beta repo but have not seen anything.

github, you should have to sign into the site and go to BTT github. They should have sent a link, there is a fb post somewhere on their page if you want to join (for others)
