P1P Bed Homing Issue

Have a weird bed homing issue on one of our older P1Ps. It will do its initial bed vibration procedure prior to raising up to tap the nozzle. However — it never reaches the nozzle, does a few hops downward, and fails / doesn’t home.

The bed had to be manually raised up to where it is pictured. When the issue started, the bed was running into the bottom of the printer. Almost like a sensor is disconnected? The bed would only raise a few inches from the bottom, vibrate and move back down.

We have:

  • updated firmware
  • Factory reset
  • Calibration (fails during calibration)

Have never seen anything like this happen so looking for help!

Hi, did you have an error code ? and did you cleaned your Z axes ?

No error code which is the weirdest part. Axis lead screws are good - haven’t ever had an issue with those

Strange indeed . Before contacting bambu lab support team, have you checked if there is an update available? I would also try a full reset, if you didn’t try it

Sorry, you already did a full reset

You can manually raise it all the way to top and lower to the bottom using the touchpad or does it kick you out with a message to Home it first?

Kicks me out with a message to home first. Apologies, I had to flip upside down to manually move the bed via belt.

The print that was completed prior to the issue used up almost the entire space so the bed ended the print almost bottomed out.

At first I thought there was an issue with something stuck or lodged - nothing I could find. So I manually brought it up and it does the same thing as before
