Hi, I had some slight layer shifting on a print, and long story short, I followed this video as part of troubleshooting.
I’ve since seen the official Bambu Lab Wiki video and realised that this isn’t the recommended method for belt maintenance. From what I’ve read, the belts are self tensioning with springs. So my question is does the procedure in the video actually achieve anything, or could it cause incorrect calibration in some way?

Not familiar with the video you are talking about but the tensioner on is almost identical to the belt tensioner on a late model car.
Also, being a toothed belt and using toothed sprocket/pulley I think premature wear of the belt would be the my main concern.

These belts are designed to maintain optimal tension automatically, so manually tightening or loosening them might lead to uneven calibration or premature wear on the pulley teeth. I have adjusted the belts on my P1S’s a couple of times and it has always sorted out issues and noise. Ive followed the wiki and not gone to the lengths in the video, easy and simple
