TLDR: Bed and tool head both moved to their limits mid print and grinded/vibrated until I turned off the power.
I’ve had my P1S with AMS for about about a month. I’ve used it a lot and haven’t had too many issues with it until recently. Yesterday I had a clog in the toolhead (I think due to heat creep) and removed it using the hot hex wrench method.
Today, I decided to be more careful to avoid heat creep so I printed PLA with the door open and a window open in my printing room. Did a few prints about 1 hour each that worked great, but a 2 hour print failed in a really weird way. About 90 minutes in I heard a loud noise coming from the printer and found it with the bed grinding against the bottom limit and the tool head grinding against the right hand limit. Didn’t want anything to break badly so I tried to stop it as quick as possible. Trying to pause or stop it from the display screen did nothing, so I just turned off with the switch in the back. It wasn’t a tall print and the bed shouldn’t have been anywhere near the bottom. After turning it on and homing, everything seemed to be working okay so I tried the same print which failed this time due to really poor layer adhesion (possibly due to the open door and window).
Anyway, lots of issues, but the one that really worries me is the weird bed/tool head malfunction. Anyone had this happen or know why it might occur? I’ve searched around for answers, but couldn’t find anything related. Any help would be appreciated!

I don’t think I recalibrated. Would that cause such a significant issue?
Immer wenn ich irgendwas verändere dann kalibriere ich es neu. Es kann ja sein das ich den Kopf verschoben habe. Hatte als Beispiel letztens Poop was nicht runtergefallen ist, immer mehr wurde und dann als großer Poop-Propfen am “Mülleimer” und der Düse festhing. Beim lösen verschob ich den Kopf um 1 Milimeter, der Druck war dann natürlich verschoben weitergedruckt worden. Wo genau deine Probleme liegen weiß ich nicht aber ich würde als allererstes immer erst kalibrieren und wenn es immer noch auftritt dann dem Support mit Fehlerbeschreibung die Files schicken, die sehen dann sicherlich genau wo der Fehler ist. Wird ja vieles in den Log Files vermerkt.

I calibrated and haven’t had the problem since. If I run into it again. I’ll for sure send in a support ticket.

something similar has happened to me… in the middle of a print the head goes to random places making a big noise in the machine and the motors and the printer goes crazy.
Do a factory reset. That’s what I did and I haven’t had the problem since. Based on others who have had this problem as well, it seems like it’s related to printing something from Maker World with the wrong printer profile. Even if you select your correct printer before downloading, the file often loads with a different printer profile. If you don’t notice this before printing, it causes problems in the future. Even if that one particular print goes well, which it did in my case, you might get issues like this down the road. One of my first prints after the benchy included on the SD card was something off maker world which I made this mistake with. I suspect that’s true for most due to Bambu studio taking you there the first time you open it.
Just had this happen to me about 15 hours in a print i had so many issues leading up to this. Mainly Jams i replaced the extruder and hot end. I than did calibrations after a factory reset and i had this happen such a sad moment. I have been using this printer for a year no problems until 2 weeks ago.
