P1S bed want move up or down

I have a brand new P1S that has printed for 180 hours. The last print failed and the bed won’t go up or down, the z axes are free and can move, but the motor seems to be stuck or something. The motor makes a BRRRRRR sound and I suddenly hear a grinding sound from the electronics when I tried to “Home”. Has anyone else experienced this before?

I have been printing with PETG with just default slice settings if that makes sence.

Check the Z belts [underside] to make sure nothing’s wedged into the pulleys [PLA poop, etc]

I have already done that. Nothing wrong there… The belts move freely

Does the table move when you move the belt,? did you adjust the belt tension.?

Yes, the belt and bed moves and I have adjusted the tension. But when the motor goes nothing happens and it makes a crazy noise.

Double check that the wiring for the z stepper is correctly plugged in on both ends. A stepper that isn’t energizing one set of coils can make this sound. You will need to take the back off of the printer to do this.

I have already done that and all cables seem to be connected properly.. Also unconnected and connected the cable for the motor again

i would help but I dont have the p1s just the p2s! sorry and hope it gets fixed!

I don’t own a P series but have you checked that the pulley(s) are all tight on the motor shaft? The pulleys may be held on with a set (grub) screw that has come loose maybe?

I had a brand new A1 do the same thing with the Z-axis. I know, totally different creatures, but similar issue. Mine ended up being the USB control cable. I’m not sure if yours has a similar cable, but it would be worth a check. Bambu sent me a new one under warranty. Good luck!

P1S owner here. What you have described is not normal behavior for a P1S with <200 hours on it. Submit a ticket for support if you haven’t done so already. Keep us posted.
