Just recently, after my P1S finishes a tall print and I start a new one, during the startup when the bed does its thing, it moves down so far that it crashes into the bottom making a horrendous grinding noise.
Everything is clean and maintained, seems like the printer doesnt know where the bed is during its initial wiggle calibration. Ive homed it numerous times. Prints flawlessly everytime, just concerned about damage to pulleys.
It’s normal… I know it doesn’t sound normal when it’s happening but that’s how it’s always been. People have mentioned it several times over the years but the response has always been that it won’t hurt anything. Whenever I finish a tall print I always just try and remember to hit up on the motion controls a few times so it won’t be that low when I start the next print.
It’s always done this. When a print ends with the bed that low I always move it up manually, it’s a 3 key sequence you need to do x times. Don’t accidentally home it during the process, but once you get the feel of pressing those keys you can do it in about 15 seconds rapid fire.
