Do I have to make a printer calibration every time I change my plate.

Calibrate with a smooth plate. Studio will adjust for a textured plate. 3D effect plates generally have a very shallow texture and use the smooth plate height.

It’s generally a good idea to do the bed leveling calibration pre-print if you have switched plates. The first layer is critical and the small amount of extra time that bed-leveling program requires is basically always worth it. You can get away without running the program pre-print if you’re using the same plate for consecutive prints, however. Keep in mind, the program should start with a quicker 5-point test to see if the levels have changed significantly and if they haven’t than it will move on without doing the full test. How clean your nozzle gets before this can affect this but generally speaking, if your printer determines its necessary to run the full bed-leveling program based on the results it got from the 5-point test than its probably necessary anyway.
Studio adjusts for the textured plate, but as far as I’m aware this adjustment is based on the textured plate specifically. Meaning the adjustment isn’t necessarily going to account for the differences between the textured plate and a smooth plate, nor is it meant to. The adjustment is to account for the fact the bed-leveling measurements are taken with the nozzle impacting the highest points on the plate.

Really? Good to know. I’ve always used whatever plate was on the printer at the time.

If I haven’t moved the plate, I don’t run bed leveling
