Good morning all. I am trying to figure out what went wrong here. I have a P1S that is about a month old, and I am trying to do a print. We have had a lot of successful prints until now, though more stringing than I would have liked to see (using Bambu filament) but nothing too bad. We ran into a time two days ago where it would fail each print and the poops were always a mess, so I switched nozzles. It worked for a few prints (a little stringy, nothing bad), but then I tried this print and it caused the above. No issues with the first layer, (before it would sometimes have loops and such on that layer) having slowed it down and thickened the layer, but it seems to have had issues after that layer. Bambu filament, dried (about 12-13 hours in the AMS pro), and similar prints to this one had been successful right before this one. Any idea what is causing this?
7 hex pieces (last print was 2, different colors but same general shape and it worked fine using the same speeds to print as this one did, and this green has worked fine as well before just wasn’t used much on last print for more than a few tiny pieces) and all 7 had first layer print without issue but this really fine webbing formed on all after and without any looking to have had a single good row printed. I stopped the printer during the print, and there was some filament hanging down threadlike, but I assume thats because I did a stop and not print complete.
Looks like it might be heat related. How warm is the location of the printer? Are you printing with the top glass and front door open?
The room the printer is in is in the 60s for this print. And I keep the glass top on and door shut until the print is over, then open it to let it cool faster.
Can you manually turn your fans off & on from the printer screen?
I can turn them on and off without issue from the printer, yes.
As a note, I did change out the hot end recent. I went to make sure that it was all good and I took a quick look at the end that attaches to it. There had been a bunch of PLA that got onto it, so I tried to clean it, but not sure if maybe I accidently damaged it. Is this damaged or just a bit scratched and still ok?
Best advice is to replace it, they are cheap and you will get some thermal paste with the replacement heater. You can try to clean it but you will need the thermal paste when you reassemble the hot end. I would not rely on it for an extended time.
This looks almost like its burned inside on the contacts?
To your print problem would you mind to share the exact 3mf file so we could look it up in the slicer?
My advice right away print quality is always better if you print one object at a time. The layer adhesion is much better and you get less stringing because of less movement.
Its from makerworld (Settlers of Catan:Base Game & 5-6 Player Expansion - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld). I was working on the wood plate.
I know one object at a time is better, but that amount of waste and time it would take to do every single tile, one at a time, is not realistic. And I have not had this problem on any other print yet, including with this color, and many of those prints are just as many objects.
Any idea what would cause the contacts to burn? I went ahead and ordered a new set of the heating elements, but this exact element had been used right before this with success and without the spidery web.

What exact filament did you use? Pla, Petg?
Did you try run only 2 instead of 7 again?
Did the problem occured at layer 2 or which layer?
If its burned this couldve been because of a loose connection, poor connection because of dirt/filament residue. Did you make this picture before the run with the 2 hexagons or after the 7 hexagons?
could you upload the one you sliced and used with 7 hexagons? Export as 3mf and upload here so we can have a look on your exact settings.
